Is he not fit due to lack of game time or injury?

If its the latter, have we not learnt anything over the last 5 or so seasons?

It was a leg pull mate even 60% fit he'd be better than anything we presently have he left Cardiff on a free as it was an alleged breach of contract, so I wouldnt think he's match fit.
Having said that if were having to make do with what we have in games would a few weeks getting back to match fitness be a problem knowing what he could offer 5/6 weeks down the road Zeli can't keep fit and DMH is not the answer to our wideman position.

Looking at our fixtures, that of the opposition plus the FA Cup tie and the next 3 weeks will be imperative in determining whether SM is at the club for Christmas.

Now I really want SM to succeed but poor results in the league, could mean a really sorrowful league position and Cup defeat surely could spell the end.

Rhodes will not sack McCall. Expectations are low in the club.

Your possibly right but imagine being out of all cups and say in the bottom 4/5, come early December. I'm not sure the old pals act will be enough to save Macca.

Hopefully, we are top half and in the FA Cup 3rd round. Save this initial dilemma.

As of this morning McCall has my full confidence. Today is a must win though to show that he means business and to show that we can mount a challenge to climb the table, consolidate and then get out of this league.

Todays game is the real test of his managerial strength moving forward on the back of some good wins against Southend and Tonbridge.

If we get all 3 points today I reckon we’re gonna be absolutely GRAND! :D:brig:

Ask yourself how you would have felt if we hadn’t had those results or even just scraped through? Thankfully we didn’t, however definitely not a time to get carried away.

Today is a big game for McCall. He’s had the week to prepare and rest the strongest squad he has available. No excuses to not be ready for this and give Exeter a good game. Repeats of Barrow, Bolton, Newport and Harrogate will tell me more about where we are rather than the Southend and Tonbridge results. Big test for McCall today.

Its definately a tricky run of games, especially looking back at seemingly easier ones over the past 4 or 5 weeks.

Its not inconcievable we may not win any of them either

Aye buddy absolutely agree, big test today for McCall.

Honestly I would of wanted McCall ouT if we didn’t beat Tonbridge and Southend, but what’s got my spirits up again is the way in which we beat both of them, I didn’t expect us to get 7 goals past Tonbridge and expected more of a struggle against any league opposition, I really do think we’ve turned a corner and I’m confident of all 3 points today.

    COME ON CITY!!!

Now we have a system that the players seem able to understand.

Next step is to try to keep a settled team. Consistency is the key to how well we do this season.

At times today we played some good football and then at other times we didn't.

5 wins in 17 for MCCall in the league.

    Played 17
Won 5 (Stevenage x2, Mansfield, Southend, Plymouth (only team not in bottom 6 when playing them and finished with 9 men))
    Draw 5
    Lost 7

Ain't good enough. Hopefully he turns it around.

    Rupp out.

If I was a betting man I would say you have an unhealthy agenda against the club.

Why didn't you , *ahem* for balance :innocent:, also describe the circumstances of the draws and defeats.

You'd lose old boy. I just feel a manager needs to produce more than a 29% win rate, a 16th placed position in the khazi league, an unbalanced squad all led by an owner whom has took this club backwards and each passing season, we regress further.

I'm sure you want more success for the club. Under the current set up, I just don't see it getting better. Do you?

So you can guess what comes next....

    RUPP OUT.

We're getting what we paid for, and that means Stuart is doing acceptably well at present.

After the initial feeling of dejection that were just not very good, I'm over it and can see that with players like DMH, Clayton, Guthrie, and a boat load of children breaking into the team that we're just not a top seven side and that's that.

We can talk all we want about recruitment, but austerity is the name of the game and frankly this is that season where entertaining games like today is the best we can hope for.

Forget focussing on every weakness or defeat, we are where we are, and actually I can easily see how this season will leave us in a stronger position for next year.

We might be getting what we paid for, but are we getting what we were promised before we paid up?

You’re right though, It’s the hope and expectation that gets you. Accept we are generally rubbish and inconsistent all over the park, and it’s a more stress free ride.
