I agree but the process takes time that’s why unless results continue like this for a while yet it’s the wrong time to get rid

His track record at Scunthorpe and Salford speaks for itself and he would presumably be interviewed.

When did you last run a successful business?

You snooze you lose - I don’t think he would come here anyway, no scope to make any decent signings.

It’s the mistake we keep making Bowyer looked a great candidate he took a basket case club at the time to promotion at the first attempt and the Blackpool fans like him. But he didn’t do it here. If he wants this job when it’s available then of course he should apply and be interviewed along with the other serious interested candidates along with others who may not apply who might do a good job. In other words we should do what successful businesses do and find the best person for the job not necessary someone who is available

Didn't see any evidence before we appointed Bowyer Grayson Hopkin and of course Mikey
But can only hope Any new manager needs to be the new CEO choice and that won't happen anytime soon Our reputation has taken a massive downturn in the last few years am struggling to think we could attract the right man whoever that may be

3 wins is surely doable and a must really. I’d rather get points on the board now and should McCall fall on his sword we have some points in the bag for a new manager.

Of course we should recruit the best person, and the chances are they will have been a football management role previously but if it’s compo involved then we have to be realistic and say can we afford it.

It’s interesting seeing the personality of a manager when the chips are down. That’s the side a cushy interview doesn’t tap into.

I think the problem might be with the person recruiting.

They'll certainly need all their omniscient and omnipresent powers to turn this shower into an effective football team!

If we win the next 3, it will only give us three points on the board.

Well we have lost the last three games, not scored a goal and conceded five. It is over 380 minutes since we scored a goal from open play.

Looking at the next three fixtures, we should win them all. However, in this unstable season, then if the unthinkable happened and we lost all three, what would your position be then?

Paying Stuart off and any associated staff compo to another club, probably more in wages to a new manager and his staff - where would that leave us financially and to be able to strengthen the squad?

Not overly bothered about the Tonbridge and Oldham games due to being cup games.

In Southend, as ridiculous as it sounds, it's a must not lose game. In fact it's in all honesty, a must win game. I can't believe I'm writing so early in the season, in such a way... Looking over my shoulder than onwards..

It was quite clear from the Barrow game, that confidence looks low and determination amongst the side looks lacking. Defeat to Southend can only add to the pressure /apathy within the squad and with Exeter, Salford and Leyton Orient upcoming, the league table could look very bleak, come the end of November.

There may be - but looking how a number of the players signed before Mccall came in have performed poorly for a number of managers - without a major shake up of players it will be a difficult task given the salarly cap - moving players on and getting players to actually want to come in and pull on a city shirt.

Always got an excuse haven't we?

He has 8 months of his contract left. Bowyer had more. Football is a results based and if we are not getting the results which we are not then he needs to go.

So come Jan would you trust McCall to strengthen the squad with the rubbish he has brought in? Look, we need to stop acting cheap and get the right manager into the club and if he is at another club then fine.

Lets be clear, Rhodes record on choosing the right manager is abysmal, He must not be allowed to pick another bad one, He must go before we appoint another manager,

This game is massive for both clubs, Southend will be looking at it as an ideal opportunity to get their season up and running against a team bang out of form. It's not like we can even say a point is a good result for City, its win or nothing. Lose this and we are a bona fide relegation side.

The club, as I understand it, had been budgeting for a larger sum for the 20/21 season, than they are now allowed to spend, given the EFL Salary Cap. So the ability to pay Stuart and Kenny off, should not be an issue.

As far as I can see, the EFL salary cap, only refers to players, not the management team. https://www.efl.com/news/2020/august/squad-salary-caps-introduced-in-league-one-and-league-two/

However given that we now have a limit on the squad size, for players over the age of 21. The current squad has 26 players. The definition of an Under 21 player, ‘...means a Player under the age of 21 as at the 1 January in the year in which the Season concerned commences (e.g. for Season 2020/21, born on or after 1 January 1999)’. https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/efl-rules--regulations/section-1----general/
Looking at our squad, then nine players fit the criteria as being Under 21. So theoretically the club could sign up to another five players.

At the moment that would be limited to unattached players, who are likely to need several weeks to bring them up to a level of fitness.

I guess that there will be less movement of players who are already contracted, when the transfer window opens, given that all clubs have less senior players than before.

So perhaps the club does have capacity to sign players, pay off people, but the options may well be limited. Whoever is the Manager, still has to work with the current players.
