Baldwin will only come as CEO if there is an option to buy clause in there somewhere

I hadn’t seen that Rupp had said that, just that the appointment would be later in the season

It wasn't Rupp that said it, Rhodes said he'd identified his successor, but Rupp had asked him to wait for a while before appointing him.

This won’t be popular but it’s probably likely that Rhodes is training up Ryan Sparks in the next few weeks and Rupp wants him up to speed before Rhodes departs. It’s the only explanation I can think of for the reason of a delay.

Slightly off topic but is their a chance that McCall the manager is doing damage to McCall the player?

I try to separate the two but I just had a conversation with a seasoned City fan whom was scathing of him in his management role, not (IMO) giving enough credits for his playing role. Crux of his thinking was McCall the manager is doing more damage to the club than McCall the player, did for the club.

For the record, I don't agree.

Why would the club want to get rid of McCall at this stage? We're told that a new CEO is arriving in the not too distant future and I couldn't imagine the new CEO wanting to replace SMc with a new manager until he has his feet under the table. Unless we are on the verge of relegation, which I very much doubt even with some of the recent performances, any self respecting CEO will want his own person in charge of team affairs.

I see us seeing out this season and allowing SmC's contract to run down for him to be replaced by somebody else towards the end of the season.

McCall will always be a legend here

I understand why Rhodes brought him back but the damage it will do the club in Covid times is massive. We are already seeing the effects of I Follow switch off already.

Not if Rhodes appoints a replacement for SMc from those managers in his phone book only for the new guy to want a different type of manager. That would be a silly move by Rhodes.

That might suit Rupp and be worth a delay
in appointing anyone Rhodes may have lined
up.I think if Baldwin came on board as an owner
and CEO that would be great in my opinion.

The way the club is atm if Julian is leaving we need a CEO who hasn’t just been in business but has been successful in the FOOTBALL world re the running of a club from top to bottom so can look at all the present personnel in every department and sort out accordingly . Bradford City needs to be put back on the map and quick

That would be a disaster!! Seriously, If Rupp does that I am done with him.

The reason I can see for a delay is McCall! A new CEO isn't going to want to come in a sack him straight away, so it makes sense waiting to see how McCall does then if it's poorly Rhodes will have to get rid.

This is true but the issue will be to get fans back and fans won't come back in numbers if we continue as we have started this season.
