We've just been played off the park at home by fecking Harrogate and some are wondering why there's negativity? FFS

I agree but it's not just that. Every team we play against seems to have a better first touch and more composure on the ball. Maybe it just seems that way because we don't press quickly enough

I see gaps in our squad, absolutely. I've said before that I think it's the poorest squad in my lifetime. BUT coaching and tactics play a huge part, and I defy anyone to say that Harrogate have a better group of players. They clearly have a better team, based on that.

What was our system? It lacked balance in every way. I couldn't even tell you our formation if I hadn't seen it beforehand.

I don’t think Harrogate had pace. What this squad lacks is organisation and discipline.

Is that really what he said? Who prepared them to give a 5/10 performance and who decided to play a diamond formation with no pace against a team which presses their opposition continually? Ah, yes!

Dug his own grave with last piece of the jigsaw comment based on a raw striker signing

Would demanding better make a difference I very much doubt the 11 on show went out to perform so poorly, we were shown how to play football tonight, they play that system and stick too it and it works, Stuart saying on BBC we went for the diamond and all 11 on show didn't show up, well play a system the players prefer to play, it's not rocket science.
If Stuart wants players to play a certain way then that will not happen over a season we saw that with Parky, he played to the players capability and the following season added more quality, I'd say during Nahki's last season we played that system as good as any team could, I felt a Parkinson's side could always get a result they knew what was required from each and every individual, but as I say it took time, and that's not making excuses for tonight or for Stuart.

    Well that was utterly disgraceful.
    Our passing to Harrogate players
    was remarkable.Consistently
    done throughout the game.

    We started slow,couldn't get
hold of the ball and gave it away
    straightaway.Never got near the
By line to put crosses in for
    Novak just one clueless,inept
    performance

I don't know whether their squad as individuals is any better than ours. But what I watched tonight was a better prepared team, a better organised team and a team which seemed to understand their own individual roles. Despite 10 of their squad being new recruits, they looked like they had played together for a long time. We had none of that and that's the responsibility of the manager to assemble a squad and then to prepare them for the game. Hold your hand up SMc!

And that's what Stuart said, not in as many words but he knew his team we were second best on the night.
I think his comment was a 5/10 performance.

He had lockdown as well to look at his Ipad.

I heard Apppleton say the spent lock him speaking with PL/Championship clubs doing zoom presentations on why clubs should let their players join them and he worked out what kind of players he needed.

How our squad lacks pace and quality is still has to be on Smc. He just picked up his black book. Lazy recruitment.

Our PR is shoddy. If we've just completed the jigsaw, it's a jigsaw for 7-9 year olds and half the pieces are missing.

So McCall still not know his best 11 and not surprising when people out of positions. For starters let's look at the right side, right back on bench from Leeds we play a centre half there in French. With a wingback Infront of him in Sutton. Diamond formation at home so straight down the middle. These things didn't work for last manager either.
442 is the best formation at home with 2 wingers running at defenders crossing in for your front two. I know the directness wasn't always easy on eye but got results.

Nail on head "composure" lack of all over the park. Where is the leadership to calm things down - where was the talking - players wanting responsibility and talking and encouraging of each other. We are told they are tight knit group but were left wanting tonight.

    as much as that?!

i thought watt showed some promise at times and o’donnell with his save. But generally we were second best in every department - so many basic errors in touch and passing. We looked like a bunch of strangers and were nullified basically by harrogate closing us down and working hard. I thought donaldson, guthrie and novak were equally poor, and french and sutton - deary me. Sutton showed a lot of endeavour but technically in that second half he was awful. He wasn’t alone tbf, clarke was equally poor and i’ve no idea why he even played evans. I love stu but he’s some serious work to do on that showing.

all the best btw @Parader@Parader, hope you are on the mend soon.
