Agree, in this particular case I was commenting on your post which referred to Bryces parents.

 

Good luck to the lad, can’t comment on him as never heard of him. But I’d never heard of Burke, Cullen or O’Brien when they first arrived so I’m not to concerned. More concerned about not having a striker yet, but I suppose not having a game Saturday gives us more time.

The lad's originally from Crystal Palace and Jamie's a Balham boy with coaching connections down there so may have crossed paths.??

Interesting that he says we started after him in July. He turned down offers from leagues above to come here and admires Stuarts football philosophy and feels SM can bring him on as a player.

Also that he says Leeds they like players who can play in more than 1 position.

Well done to the club for persevering and getting him in.

Surely this puts to bed some of the bull that gets posted on here about us not targeting and scouting players? If we've kept an eye on him since July clearly some home work has gone into it....

 

But it's targeted isn't it? Bryce says in the interview it was City that came back onto Leeds two weeks ago I think it was.

 

One person that we've tracked for a few months doesn't excuse the past 2 years of poor recruitment. A good step forward and hats off if he turns out to be any good but there are still structural issues with the way we identify players and bring people in

 

I didn't say it did but I'm judging on how McCall has recruited since he came back. Arguably our best player so far in Watt was a McCall signing. I was making a point that at the moment there is clearly some work going into our scouting. What issues are you having with the way we identify players since McCall came back? I'd agree our striker hunt has been severely lacking but if we have to wait for players that perform like Watt has done and full of potential, I'd rather wait than take a Guthrie in pure panic.

 

The bit I struggle to understand is the Guthrie situation, McCall says we had offers for the lad at the start of the season.
Guthrie got injured and we had to wait until the season started before we could judge the lad, unfortunatly what I've seen so far we'd have been better off taking one of the offers, I'm not sure in Guthrie I see a striker who will get double figures, I do hope I'm wrong.

thankfully that's true. It's also true we are much weaker than we were prior to what went on and suffering the consequences.

 

I don't believe for a second we did. Surely McCall just went to the press with that for some kind of confidence boost for the lad. He's sh!te and everyone knows it. No way we had one slight sniff of interest, or an offer even, let alone two..
