Funnily enough I think the last 2 games have strengthened Stuarts hand in the transfer window. Defensively we look below average, back to the standard that got us relegated.
I think we will get a RB and CH in very soon. Followed by a striker possibly 2. Then that's gonna be it until January.

 

It's a sly, shit house dirty league. We need a couple of sly, shit house dirty league 2 defenders. I've seen enough. The O'Connor twins are both rubbish. But I'm more worried by the abject lack of quality we showed from start to finish

 

And ironically the shithousery opponents had no reds and gave away significantly less fouls

 

I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that we would have won without the needless second red card. A lot of games in this league are going to be boring, league two isn't known for it's entertainment. I'm not too worried but it does highlight the need for new players, a new striker, right back and centre back required now? Preferably next week.

 

It was a routine shot at goal that the keeper catches 99 times out of a hundred. If we're trying to credit the goal for the shot and not the mistake then I'm more worried than I was before.

 

I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that the keeper should easily stop both goals. We can't rely on keeper feck ups every week for goals.

 

Watch the save again, it's a regulation save from a good header. I'd expect a Sunday league keeper to save that and not think owt of it. I think we're scraping the barrel looking for positives today.

 

POC hardly touched the lad. If I was SM I would be asking why their number 8 didn't get a red card for elbowing French. Looked clear as day to me. POC went to have a word with him and he went down like he had been shot.

If the ref saw that from behind I can see why he gave a red but this angle is less conclusive. POC should learn from this but I hope their lad gets pelters from us at the home game-if we are allowed back by then.

Just imagine if league two footballer never made mistakes, strange how you don't mention Anthony O'Connor lack of positional sense to allow their lad to get a run on him and him bringing Ebou Adams down for there first goal, or young Reece stubbing his foot trying to make the clearance that cost us their second goal and ultimately their share of the spoils.

Like I said earlier if you don't have a shot you can't expect to score and its plainly daft to suggest the club are relying on keeper errors every game to win them.

Ive no problem shooting but it wasn't the reason for the goal. Any professional keeper has to hold that, pretty embarrassing that he didn't.

 

FGR were poor for a home team, anyone who saw the game can't dispute that, a shame there isn't a breakdown of when those 17 fouls were committed, I'd suggest many of them would have been when we went down to 10 men and again when we were reduced to 9 men ?.

 

Well watching that was like watching Conference League. Nothing more, poor stuff overall.

 

Had just about every emotion possible watching that second half.

First sending off you’d expect, AOC very clumsy. Second was stupid on Paudies part, but the reaction was comical from their bloke and it looked as though French had been hit in the face just prior.

Guthrie is a strange one. Gave away foul after foul first half but seems to get into it second half. Novak will score goals. Ismail isn’t good enough as a starter, can only ever see him as an impact sub.

Draw probably about fair but being so agonisingly close was gutting. Even more so as I had 2-1 Novak at 50-1 with Wm Hill

 

Except today Watt had a shot and the keeper decided to spill the ball and make a feck up. Nova was there to slot the error into the onion bag. No shot no error. Simple really.
You could say their first goal was an error in the wall. 99 times out of 100 the ball doesn't get through the wall but today it did.
