Don’t forget we were rocked by injuries all season at one point we had half a team out we lost the guy who was going to be the playmaker (Devitt) at the start we were going well we lost Donaldson Pritchard Cooke Ishmael and others well above average. I well know injuries are part of football but we had far more than our share

 

Injuries did play a part but the truth is we were a bang average side with bang average performances. The neutral i spoke to has watched football for over 60 years, he said your club has serious problems with this squad and he was bang on. The end result of a non existent transfer strategy for 3 seasons now. Its the reason why it will take a manager more than a season to sort this club out, failure is too deeply ingrained in the squad. There is no strategy from the top down, believe me i know. Until this changes any manager, never mind McCall, will find it hard to change around this clubs fortunes.

 

I wouldn’t say there is anything to stop that, no. You will get all sorts of deals like that if clubs panic mid window and want rid of a high earner of the books I imagine. we could for example say to Tranmere, pay Vaughan’s contract severance up and you can have him?

 

But they have emphatically said they aren’t going to do that

 

Weird line of thinking this but im thinking hes having a paddy as stuarts told him O'Donnell is captain this season. My reasoning for that is that O'Donnell has been plastered all over social media. I understand why james would be upset if thats the case

 

Not sure why JV would expect to be captain after jumping ship last season

Maybe JV said "thats why i came here" . But again pure conjecture. Do find it a bit odd hes got him at wigan on his profile pic though

Not sure if this has been posted but seen today that the two clubs who voted against the cap were Southend and Scunthorpe.
