It's much better on here, where you can reply and add stuff to your post, although I have no doubt some from on here frequent it, both myself and Park did during our bans from C&B.

And I don’t believe for a minute his agent would have agreed to that. Doesn’t matter what we did or didn’t do, mezza held all the aces

Yeh, why would Mezza sign a new deal for a potential 6 months and miss out on a signing on fee? The facts are he wanted to move on to a higher level. We should have sold him in the summer but easy to say that now after he left for nish.

Its very easy saying we should have signed him up but he has to want to sign up as well. If he wanted to stay he would have.

He was practically begging for a new contract in a t&a article last January. He would've signed if offered a good enough deal.

Maybe we are trying to be the first club to sign a manager on a zero hours contract. ;)

I remember the article and no he wasn't. He said he was keen to sign but was in no hurry - Macca then followed this up with a few comments about some players wanting to wait as can earn more money if we are in the Championship. Talks started, and then contract talks were then put on hold until after the Jan transfer window and then he wanted to wait until the end of the season - he then rejected our offer and left us.

Meredith is a scumbag. His social life was all over social media and that suggests the character that he was. He also signed for them animals at Millwall, just after their behaviour at Wembley. I also seem to remember him getting the hump when we signed Sheehan and dragging his heels all summer over an extension and finally turning back up at the club when he couldn't find a new club.

And one of our most consistent performers over the 5/6 season he was at the club, which was far more relevant to the club and us fans.

Or maybe he went into the wrong dressing room at half time, and Harris made him the offer of a contract if he signed it there and then.

As a player, he was great. But its easy to blame the club for not keeping hold of him.

A large amount of the reduction are £5 STs though so the financial loss is minimal if any.

Last time I spoke to anyone it was 14500 about 2 week ago and as I say an awful lot of the drop off was £5 STs who were fictional anyway. Seats bought by adults in case we got a big cup draw etc.

I think we have to take the drop in numbers with some perspective. If we average over 15,000 for next season if you base it from the figures of the last season or two then the drop looks worrying. But most of my years watching City we've never had anywhere near the 15,000 figure, its a good number for a club with an historically low following.

When the season is up and running and holidays are over it will be easy to tell in the ground if we have actually lost many. The figures were always inflated with £5 tickets and the ones company’s bought to give away etc.

Spot on. There is absolutely nothing the club could have done to keep him. Nothing.

Whatever he may have said in January was just rhetoric. He had zero intention of signing in January, had we gone up automatically he’d have begged us for a new contract, had we lost in the semis he’d have packed his bags and been on standby for a trip to whoever won the final by 8pm on the Sunday of our defeat.

He had an offer in his pocket before kick off at Wembley and couldn’t lose, we win and he knows we offer him a new contract before anyone else in the squad, we lose and he’s virtually on the millwall coach home. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised to hear he hadn’t traveled home with the rest of the squad.

He hedged his bets and couldn’t lose. Basically he’s a tosser who used us and if anyone thinks we could have altered what happened in ANY way (and in the process chooses the blame edin rahic) then they need to shake their head pretty hard.
