I agree being a natural finisher is the most important thing. I like pace on the wing though because it worries defenders and makes room for strikers

One hundred per cent. If they've got the end product and can find the back of the net on a regular basis, I couldn't care less how pacy they are.

Isiah Rankin the £1 million plus striker was as fast as f--k. Could'nt finish a good fish supper.
We have very rarely come across fast strikers , who can actually put the ball in the net on a regular basis.
A pacy winger that can cross acurately on a fairly regular basis is want you need.
If Ismael Pritchard Dmh can do that , who knows, not seen much so far Connelly did worry defences with his blistering pace , but did he actually have many assists or goals.

Didn't help the attacking players were always having to come deep or had their back to goal.

Talking of pace, I'd take Jordy Hiwula back. Although not the best finisher, he does still weigh in with a fair share of goals, and I think would be very good at this level. Don't know if clubs have been in for him this summer, do seem to recall he was released by Coventry?

There was a rumour knocking about yesterday that he'd signed for someone and it was going to be announced today but not seen anything since.

Will Buckley's name mentioned today. He turned us down in January, re-signed for Bolton and broke his leg in his first game. Good in his day at Rochdale, always played well against us

Who'd have thought it, Simon Grayson certainly did the fans and the club a favour taking Scannel off our hands.

Has played about 40 games in 3 seasons. Would be just us all over if we signed him up with the salary cap too.

Plus, McCall has worked with him before, so that's the scouting criteria filled.

But didn’t give him a chance against two slow lumps at Wembley. I’d happily take him but don’t think Stuart will.

Its that saying thats just been mentioned, 'good in his day'. We need somebody good now, not 5 years ago.

I hope not. He wouldn't be a terrible signing but for the wages i'd rather we take a chance on someone 7-10 years younger who might actually improve over time.

We sign too many players who are in a decline. I liked the signing of Cooke and Watt, they are in their prime and might get even better. If we are signing someone who is 30 I want them to be at their best now, not eight years ago.

Might even get better? I should bloody well hope they will - they are 2 young lads a good couple of years off hitting their prime yet!
