seems odd, what’s the arrangement with the supply in your house? Supply Cable coming in, 100A fuse then the meter and then fuse box/s? Not sure how that can happen if the intake equipment is all in your house and visibly connected via the meter to you fuse box? So the meter units don’t seem to be changing to reflect your usage? Dunno a mystery, is the meter ok? maybe in hindsight you don’t want that checked too closely Those smart meter things on amazon are handy, but it’s a cost to you to buy one. If i lived closer you could have a shot of mine to see what your usage is and compare it to the kWh reading on the meter etc. Just sit back and relax

I could go into the intricacies of my electrical set-up but the daftheads on here wouldn't understand m8.

The issue is, I believe, that it's an apartment. Bit weird as I only have one neighbour above. My mate's dad calls it a semi-detached house but over/under instead of side by side.

Anyway. Both leccy meters are in a cubbyhole thing next to each other. An engineer came to read the communal meter before chrimbo and, long story sideways, deduced that my meter may not be my meter.

it should be pretty easy for an electrician to prove/tell so sounds like you must have it sussed. Just disconnect one meter/supply and see what no longer works in the whole property!

 

Best make sure the beers are cold first.

That's kind of what the engineer did. He asked me to turn my fuse box off which I did. 30 mins later I went to ask him if I could turn it back on and he said I hadn't turned it off. I showed him, he confirmed it was off and said there was still current going to the meter.

Pure fluke really - he wasn't there to do that. My energy provider obv won't just take his word for it though.

Anyway, it's nice for this thread to return to the kind of proper countdown content it's known for around the world.
