Being a chef in a care home I can tell you we're struggling for everything .
It seems the elderly are expendable.

 

Not in my mind. We treat our elderly with criminal levels of disdain and disregard. Is there anything more that the community can be doing to help?

The care home 15 miles from me, 14 dead, 30 more patients infected and 60 staff. Staggeringly, they are moving people back in there because State can't find any "issues" with how it's running

I’m not saying the government are deliberately letting people in care homes die, but the cynic in me does wonder how much money the elderly in social care cost the government every year.

Apologies that this is about to sound so crass, but thinning the heard amongst that age demographic might not be the end of the world in the government’s eye.

 

I quoted what a nurse had told my daughter and I would assume it makes sense (unless it's a family member) try and save the younger stronger.
I would think once this situation is over a very large percentage will be 70+ years of age maybe 80% or more of the total dead.

Yes the nurse is correct. That's the golden rule. Save the younger person rather than the 70 plus.

 

I absolutely hate and detest conspiracy theories, mainly because some idiot once told me to 'do my own research', so I did.

What some people base their ideas and beliefs on is piss poor, factually challenged jibberish that is built upon one fake article after another until there's a complex web of utter bollocks that can actually be referenced to other utter bollocks that some other idiot wrote/blogged/YouTubed a bit before.

Almost all conspiracy theorist-type stuff is so shit it's unbelievable - so poor it legitimately annoys me thinking that I read or watched any of it at all.

Thing is, though, it all stems from unanswerable questions - you know, like how religion started, answering the unanswerable questions and almost irrefutable despite being blatant nonsense - anyway, I guess the obvious question now is, why are only wealthy countries (outside of Iran) posting high figures?

So get ready for a decade-long wave of utter nonsense directed at US Democrats, Bill Gates, and anyone who comes up with a vaccine 'explaining' why.

If anyone wants to guess what piffle the theorists will come up to explain this, it could be useful - forewarned is forearmed!
