I can't believe Akpan is playing. Young Cooke needs to be in there every time from now on.

 

We do have Riley if he ever puts an appearance in! Now whether he is better is a mute point.

 

Distribution was poor at Cambridge also, albeit in difficult conditions

 

If he ever gets back he’ll be woefully short of game time. I think Kelvin has got it by default for the rest of the season but if as likely he gets injured again I’d try Anthony there rather than Henley. Look at the number of goals that have come from players running into the box leaving Henley on his backside. There were two in quick time in one match recently.

 

A few people having a go at AOC. But it can't be easy when you are playing centre back and right back at the same time. Yesterday he found himself having to come across and cover mellor way too often.
I would even be tempted to give Devine a go at right back. Even if he has a shocker it can't be any worse than our current right backs who are just awful.

 

His distribution has been poor in the last few weeks. But overall he has been one of our most consistent players this season.

 

I had the thought recently that maybe Devine could fill in at right back. I’d be interested to know what other posters think. If my job depended on it I’m not sure I’d want to risk it.

 

But as I said, could he be any worse? He is definitely more composed than Mellor who treats the ball like a grenade and can't get rid of it quick enough.

 

I’ll give that some thought. Still splitting my sides watching replays of De Gea’s howler which makes our keepers problem yesterday look less bad

 

Devine would be better served taking over from Akpan.

Devine isn't nearly as useless as Akpan, and that's based on actual first team game time.

 

Yes Devine is a player.

 

I'm not sure thinking his performances have gone downhill recently is 'having a go', but I appreciate what you are saying about him struggling because he is having to cover for others as well as trying to do his own job.

Both not tacking and pulling out of 50/50 challenges.

Reeves did well on the ball yesterday but I don't think he made a challenge.
