I agree - he doesn't look 'great' but he is a low risk player and if he is 4th-5th choice striker next season (which he probably will be) I have absolutely no issue with that. Grayson was very complimentary - he has limitations but has a fantastic attitude in training and on the field.

And that is all you can ask, which is why I wouldn't start going in on the guy, he wants to be here and do well when better players didn't seem to want to.

However it's the clubs responsibility to make sure we don't sign players who aren't cut out for this level, even when giving 100% every week. If he is an asset next season, I'll happily admit I was wrong, but I'll be shocked.

What gets me is Rahic said it's difficult to get good players to come over from Germany when you are in the 3rd tier, but in the 2nd tier they be hounding us to come over. I don't disagree with that, but why bring players over until we reach the 2nd tier then, when more likely than not they won't be good enough.

Hannes Wolf odds shortened a bit today to 8/1. Cannot see it being him though, as he not been linked with bigger clubs recently?

Fine by me, the fact that the coach might be English, German, French, Scottish, man or woman is irrelevant. An English failure is no worse, or no better than a German failure.

It could be a German woman for all I care, as long as they are successful.

It paid off for the dogs, yet failed for god knows how many Prem and CC teams!

Whoever it is should be welcomed and let results speak for their credibility

PS I hope there is a bigger squad clear out, much bigger than we have seen to date, thus letting the incoming coach make the team their own ASAP.

The problem with having a foreign manager (who hasn't lived in the UK) is that you need a decent support team. We're not exactly proactive with our scouting, and we're not exactly on top of the transfer list during the windows. Either he's going to be bringing his own staff, with knowledge from abroad, or he's going to have to rely heavily on Greg (when he's back) who didn't exactly pull up any trees last time.
Or he's going to have to rely on Edin's judgement.

    We're doomed.

From 11minutes in until 14 minutes were far more interesting IMO.

Great question. Paul Tisdale - I'm hoping our forward thinking board are waiting to see Notts County beat Exeter before pouncing

But not then I'd go for Ainsworth, Ardley or maybe see what someone like Kewell would do. But my No.1 would be

They all fit in with the ideas of the board and like it or not, that's important. In business, which sadly footie is just a much as any other, it can't work without everyone pulling in the same direction

Oh and if Leeds sack Heckingbottom (let's be honest it's something they would randomly do) then he's No.2 after Tisdale

I haven't a clue how you can write a player off who joins from a foreign country, with his first time abroad, to a club who were in the middle of giving an abject lesson on how to foul up every day and yet said player not only improves, but tells everyone how delighted he is to be here.

It must be good to be such a great judge of players, you can dismiss them after a few matches . I'd wager you were apoplectic with rage about his abilities after his poor debut and then got a bit worried after his Shrewsbury performance, but think it's safe to come back swinging at him, because we've all slept since then

I made the error of wondering if McBurnie would make it in L2, never mind become player of the month for a Championship team - I'll never write anyone off again. Amazing what will power, self motivation and good coaching can do.

Already Kai has gone from utter useless, to quite useful and that's impressive given our January to March lack of focus

Did anyone take me up on my BUB that he doesn't score 3 goals this season? £10 anyone?

Yes. Can you tell me we had a collection of youngsters (under 25's) like this? I can't think of any since around 1982, when McCall, Hendrie, Abbot etc developed

You seem to forget, that unlike say Peterborough, we've never had faith in youngsters so we've hardly had more than two at a time

Hence, we're entering an interesting unknown, we've never or rarely had them or we've had some who struggle to exist in L2 - we seem to forget that younger players take time to reach their potential. Hence, I expect all of them apart from Poleon to be better next season.

But maybe my memories gone, but I can't remember us ever taking some players new to L1 (or the old D2, or D3) and developing them

Then again if you think Reeves, Wyke, Robinson, McCartan, Hudson and Gibson are all mediocre at best - then you will be "lost for words". I don't. I think they're all a good coach away from been very good - or at least four of them

But please, tell me what other batch we've had in recent years or since the 80's

Look at the criticism and the ridicule the transfer attracted. Then he plays a few matches plays well and definitely influences the results the message boards give Him grudging praise. Now as time passes by the opinion reverts back to previous agendas
