For everyone who is critical of this move, who exactly do you think we should have signed instead, and please don’t harp on about Doyle.

Please can we give the guy a chance he has scored plenty of career goals and is a tough geordie not pretty boy mamby pamby!

Asked Paul Crute, the Scunthorpe United reporter from Scunthorpe Live, for his opinion on Lee Novak.

Here's his lowdown on City's new striker:

"You will never get less than 100 per cent effort from Novak and sometimes his contributions to games can go unnoticed.

"His experience is a valuable asset and he will be able to help and guide any younger members of the squad.

"He is a good addition and will score goals. He has that knack of being in the right place at the right time."

 

Fans do that at every club.

You can only go by stats and what you know of the player.

He's a good back up for Donaldson

What 36? I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.

 

I suspect he is more than backup and will feature as a key team member. Physical, aggressive, and 7 goals so far this season, expect to see a lot of him.

 

I just don't see Donaldson and Novak working.

I think we need another forward.

 

The scunthorpe fans are wetting themselves at the idea we've taken him, let alone paid a fee for him. Doesn't inspire confidence does it...

 

yep agree on the forward fella I think we definitely do, I don’t think we have much pace in the team with a NovDon pairing, although I think they will give us some bite up top.

 

The good news is that Novak and Donaldson did well together at Birmingham unlike Donaldson and Vaughan at Birmingham which didn't work at all. Your right though we need another forward.

Well all we can hope for is that Novak does a similar job for us as Doyle did for Swindon, we are due some payback.
