I think you are overly stats conscious. Yes, they had more of the ball (over 70% of it... I have my doubts as to the accuracy of these stats). But did they create more? Do you honestly feel they were dominating with the majority of possession they had in the 1st half?

I think we gave them a lot to think about in the first half. Ran at them, applied the press at the right times, got forward a lot quicker (think reeves slows the tempo down) and overall had an urgency about ourselves.

I would rather us have 20% passing accuracy, 28% possession... Including any other meaningless football manager statistic you can find if it means three points.

Don't look into the stats too much pal. We honestly weren't that bad first half. If I remember rightly, ifollow had us at over 60% possession against Mansfield for much of the game and where did the possession dominance get us?

Let's just hope the endeavour of that team is there week in, week out, because I felt they won over the sparse crowd tonight. Very, very quiet at first, rightfully so in my opinion, but it's what all ex-City players say - work your backside off, play hard, make things happen, the fans will back you.

We can't slip back to the dross we've been seeing though. Bowyer is still on his final, final warning in my opinion, even if the board don't share that opinion.

I agree with you on things like possession stats. 38% pass accuracy suggests though that we aren't very good at passing.

 

Another big game Saturday good win at home for Oldham against Mansfield what a crazy league.
I'm sure even with all the infighting we will be traveling in numbers as we always do to Boundry Park.

 

to be fair the commitment was there today. Sadly the auto spots are becoming harder to reach. Glad Swindon and Exeter lost, But even if Exeter lose their game in hand they are still 8 points above and I feel Plymouth will take other slot.

 

Disagree, I thought they were awful in the first half, and only slightly better in the second.

They tinned it around at the back with alarming inefficiency, losing the ball and creating a lot of problems for themselves. The second half, you could see the defence was still controlling their entire game, like ours has been doing for us.

It's embarrassing watching League Two cloggers trying to play it around like that, give over, the players are nowhere near good enough. It's a real mark on the cards of League Two managers to simply try and emulate Premier League teams or Champions League football at a standard that's closer to the pub league than the top division.

Cheltenham, tonight at least, were the worst of football.

I wasn't convinced - I'd like a second look, but he didn't help himself when he came on and spent half his time on the floor prior to that one. IF we're talking about the same incident.
