We usually play with just 1 out and out striker. That has been doyle, up until now, with Yates playing out wide.

In the 5 games so far without Doyle, Yates, when moved into Doyle's position, has scored in every one. A small sample size, but it suggests that Doyle is not necessary (as much as we'd still love to have him back). I don't think recalling the ginger Pele is going to work in your favour. I think he'll be more of a white elephant for you.

If we lose Yates (which is looking unlikely) then another striker will take his place. The point being that strikers will get opportunities here. If the plan is to derail our season, it's not likely to go well for you.

It's not Doyle its the players who are suppose to be supplying the lad, having said that he missed what I call a sitter for a goal scorer in his sort of form taking too many touches before shooting, but today we got away without a hiding could have been 3/4 at half time.

No we'd just though we'd derail our own season and it looks like working.

How did Doyle get on today? @Fordy117@Fordy117

That's 2 in 2 for Yates now since moving to Striker. Oh and he was 2 in 2 before Doyle joined too. Bit of a pattern emerging here isn't there?

You talk about Swindon being 'desperate' but you are the ones who have recalled a player who doesn't want to play for you and changed your system to accommodate him. That screams of desperation to me.

He's never going to score for you. If you have recalled him simply to slow us down, then fair enough, but please don't play him, because you're only embarrassing yourselves when you can't get europes most lethal striker to score.

    Have a good evening.

I still think there's a good chance of him coming back. The players haven't given up on it - Yates said today that they're hopeful he will return. It doesn't make sense for you to keep him on his high wages if it's not going to work for you. Surely that money would be better spent on somebody that suits your system?

Its a great block from the defender for Doyle's effort, i bet he couldn't do that again if he tried. For both Crawley goals, Richards Everton has had a stinker, although the second didn't help with Vaughan needlessly giving the ball away.

    Makes sense keeping him.

You lot can't afford him or his wages!

Worst mistake Rhodes did was do business with you set of of jokers.

You win today but still act desperate but expect us to bend over and give him for free- power has no money!!

Offer 200k and Doyle 5k per week then you might have a chance.. if not, shut up and accept it's not going to happen!

Never seen a set of desperate fans in my life.

Don't worry we'll find a way to waste the money if Doyle does go back. Probably sign another useless midfielder, can never have enough useless midfielders.

With the way we play? Crawley felt so sorry for us they created his only chance of the game. What striker in their right mind would want to play under this system?

Sorry but that's a sitter. Yes there is a player to beat, but given it's a defender limited to what he can block with, that's a bad miss.

You keep on saying this as though it's a fact, but how much do you really know about our finances?

We sold a youth player today for about 250k. That would help fund a transfer fee and salary.

A sitter is an open goal, theres three players at different areas blocking the shot. Not saying he shouldn't have scored but its not a sitter. A sitter is what James Vaughan missed at Macclesfield or Paudie O'Connor missed at Carlisle.

I'd back myself to score that, and would be gutted if one of those defenders blocked my effort.

    Just saying.

Isn't this the most lethal striker in the entire world or summat?

If you watch the video clip Doyle shakes his hand as he goes past him to get into the box for the resulting corner, I think Vaughan was trying to do too much today, at times playing a more midfield role than striker, he plays a ball out to Henley (I think) first half and Henley makes a right pigs ear of it and as the camera zooms in you can see Vaughan cursing.

You're embarrassing yourselves acting all desperate!

Accept it's not happening and move on!

And tell your manager he has extremely poor dress sense! Embarrassing

I know you don't like him but the top scorer in the country doesn't get there by missing sitters every week.Yes, he misses chances, but then we'd have to create chances for him to miss and theres no chance of that.

I think he could afford to miss sitters at Swindon and it didn't really matter.
