what will you say if 7 grand a week equals a poor goal return? Bowyers vault?!

It’s not giving in, he is out of contract soon and can’t play for anyone else this season so options are severely limited.

Sooner he is gone for good and his wages fully subsidised elsewhere the better.

What you talking about? He not on 7k

Even if he was the Swindon need to pay 109% of his wages then because to them he's worth 65% of their goals.

The current loan deal doesn't work for the club.

Doyle is the leading goalscorer in the country and any other club would recall him!

He has to come back for me and I believe he will because Swindon want to fool people and act like they're poor.

Shall we just hand Swindon an automatic spot due to one of our players? Madness!

Don't let the club look like MUGS!

You seem very black and white in your views, we were fools the day we allowed a first division standard striker out on loan to a key rival in the same division. Club and player have parted, bringing him back is a gamble so if we can leverage something out of his current goal return and his and Swindon’s desperation to stay there then we should do in my opinion.

I'd not seen it. Was just posted 4 hours ago in the Irish Independent so assumed it was new. Massive feature and gives a proper insight into how his brain works. He's obviously a worrier... which explains a bit why last season was so difficult for him.

I read it on the Swindon forum when looking to see any news on Doyle staying or going. One things for sure he aint gonna sign for Swindon on the cheap, could well end up coming back to see his contract out.

What was the issues with the financial fair play though? Presume that's one of the reasons we are trying to get Akpan out in this window?

Well I think we can gather from that he won't be signing for swindon on a permanent this window when he'll be chasing that big signing on fee as a free agent in the summer.

Swindon have apparently cancelled the contracts of Jermaine McGlashan and Toumani Diagouraga. Their fans reckon amongst their higher earners and frees around 7k a week....

It seemed to be the reason he went in the first place but i guess things can change. Whichever way Doyle is still gonna want his very large salary.

Just looking and Swindon have released two players today probably suggests that they are gearing up to try and get him in perm or at least for the rest of the season. If they are going to take him there has to be a decent fee involved for me I'll be mighty disappointed in the club if we let the top scorer in the league leave for free.

His goalscoring has somewhat changed what would have been a fairly average offer on what will probably be his last contract. Like any footballer, Doyle cares less who the club is as long as they pay what he wants.

But surely they will have had to have handed out payouts to those two if they were still under contract? Plus paying Doyle's wages isn't enough, we need a substantial transfer fee if he's to go.

    Agreed.

Look at this graphic (the graph on the bottom right) -

They'll do well to find any player contributing as much 'extra' as Doyle has in the season so far.

Dead right RT, exactly the same as any player and who can blame them when every club(and fans) reciprocate that attitude.

Let's hope we are playing hard ball, making Swindon pay all his wages, appearance money, goal scoring bonus maybe a bonus for their league position, to any one with an ounce of football knowledge it would be a no brainer, Doyle's enjoying his time at Swindon his confidence must be sky high thinking he can score every time he pulls a shirt on, Power should be breaking his balls to keep him, but I'm not sure he will.

Diagouraga has gone straight to Morecambe. The release by mutual consent has facilitated this move where he's probably picking up a reduced wage but I can't imagine he'll have had a full pay out. They reckon he was on 4 - 5k.

I doubt he wants to sign for Swindon full time but will stay there on loan as long as his wages are covered.

He will come back as long as his wages are covered.

Apart from getting 2 high earners off the payroll we are also due around £1.5m if Jayden Bogle of Derby gets sold during this window which seems likely.

    Maybe the Doyle/Yates/Grant money.
