Abysmal performance from start to finish. We got absolutely battered and were camped on the edge of our box for 90 minutes. Created absolutely nothing and needed 2 pens to win the game. Embarrassing tactics from boring boring Bowyer yet again.

 

We've won 2-0 and didn't enjoy a minute of it. Tactics are abysmal. The system doesn't suit us, no patterns of play, everything is just lumped forward. Even our corners are negative! Everyone stands outside the box and then make 'late runs'. 3 times the corner came in and the keeper has a free catch because no bugger is near him!

 

The frustration in the crowd was palpable today too. Bowyer was lucky that we got the pens in that sense. Wouldnt have taken much for the fans to turn today

 

Where would we be without own goals and penalties? We're probably the luckiest team in the EFL in that regard.

 

I think someone is stealing a living..sounds more like a pub side than a professional one. You would have thought we would have bedded in to produce more quality play than this. Training must be a right laugh or perhaps just a distraction that complicates things..

 

Hes right. It was abysmal to watch.

 

Because we let a lower half team dominate us for long periods. Our only goal chances came from the spot. Besides those, we never looked like scoring. No creativity, no plan, no urgency.

Connelly did well to win the penalties, because tbh, he never looked like he could pick out a man before he got bundled over. Fair play to him though,he ran his socks off for the full game. McCarten now has NO right to feel upset about not being picked. He was given his chance, and was absolutely garbage. Palmer also anonymous in midfield.

Connor Wood had a decent game, as did Vaughan -both gave their all. Taylor is not a football player. I struggle to find what he brings to the team, or even identify what sort of player he's meant to be.

Positives is that we're fourth, game in hand, and players to come back. I really hope we sign some players next week to push the football on, so we're in a position to win games comfortably rather than hanging on and hoping the other team don't score.

 

You were clearly at a different game if you're even remotely happy with that performance. Garbage.

 

I genuinely think that without the second pen, if we'd won 1-0, there would have been a few boos at FT.

Anti football. Good luck selling 20k season tickets for folks to watch that shite. I certainly wont be buying one

 

I don't work Fridays and I now live in Apperley Bridge, I'm going to have to go down to see what the hell is going on? Really interested to see what is being "coached". Didn't go today but this level of performance is happening too much for it to be a fluke/ bad patch. Can't understand how he hasn't got a pattern of play or any tactics being halfway through the season.

 

I agree and feel frustrating is a better word to describe today's performance.

Some people on here expect the perfect performance, and they are seriously deluded!

We’re in the 4th division, it’s not going to be great, in this league you need to grind out results and be solid at the back and that’s exactly what we are.

No team has won League 2 playing beautiful attacking football, it’s a harsh physical league.

 

The latter I'd suggest.

 

What injury "crisis"?

Our passing is abysmal. It is either boot it as far as you can and hope some one chases after it or a rubbish ball in the general direction of a team mate, either too far away from him so it is intercepted or at a speed or height that he can’t control it before an opponent nips in and steals it.
