Yeah them's the fine margins at the lower league level when you are looking to be self sufficient. All hunky dory being uber cheap but that don't bring in the extra players you need.

The cheap season tickets no ambition is a load of rubbish to me. This season I 'd say we have the biggest budget in the league, I'd say that is ambitious enough and our budget in league one was ambitious just used horrifically. Well done to the club on another season of affordable football, let's hope the City get behind it again.

Need a bit of momentum on the field to boost the sales though!

Personally think it’s a bad thing I’d happily pay more for more quality on the pitch, but it’s hard to moan or get mad about it when you see trash like Southend paying £350 plus to watch them get hammered every week in the third division. It’s not so much we’re to cheap in that other clubs are far to expensive. Third and fourth division clubs shouldn’t be charging over £215 imo the footballs to crap.

I understand the attitude but I'd say the majority are quite hardcore on here and would pay the increase but it's the floaters that have always been a problem for us. Imagine it's an extra £50 quid a ticket for a family of 4. It's an extra £200 to find and potentially stop them from parting with the cash.

As long as we can maintain a good budget in this league and the league above under SR which we could never really do with ML/JR then I see it as a win win.

Still don't like the idea of a flexi ticket being able to secure a seat for the season. Flexis should have whats left.

Width of a post sums this up perfectly about how this will help connect the club with the less well off areas of the city and rebuild any bridges with fans that have left the club in recent years.
For those that say they are too cheap this explains it well and to paraphrase Jason, put your money where your mouth is if you think they are too cheap and would be willing to pay more.
"There will of course be some supporters disappointed by the club’s announcement. In recent years, there’s a soundtrack of complaints that low season ticket prices hold the club back. Stopping it from having larger playing budgets, and bringing in supporters who aren’t as loyal or as dedicated as hardcore.

That is certainly a worthy argument to hear and consider. But the club have often pointed out that they encourage fans who can and want to pay more to do just that. If £150 for a season ticket is easily affordable to you, fantastic. And there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be challenging ourselves and each other to pay more for our season tickets, if we can afford to. That extra revenue could make all the difference."

Read the first sentence “Bradford is a City on the up” - gave up after that.

Do we know the details of how the player budget will be generated next season, in the past season ticket money has been the bench mark for the player budget.
Who knows what Stefan has planned with regards him financing the club going forward.
I agree with you low season ticket prices don't nessesarily go hand in hand with lack of ambition by the club.
We saw under Julian & Mark, they could take the club forward with affordable football and have us as league one promotion candidates as did Rahic & Rupp on low season ticket prices.
When we get to that position again an extra £50 on season tickets will not generate the sort of finances to make any difference to bringing quality players in.
It then comes down to the owner and their ambition going forward.
As many have posted the gap in being a top league one team and an average Championship side is massive and it won't be bridged by an increase in season ticket prices.

And I certainly can’t argue with that logic, but for me even if they’d just put it up say£15 per year for the last couple of years I’d hope that wouldn’t put people off but could be the difference in getting an extra player who could make a difference.

I’m not going to slag the club off like some will, but I do feel we sell our product to cheap compared with other clubs, or they sell it to expensive. Either way the pricing is way off from our peers.

They come back to their seats after 20/25 minutes in the 2012/13 suite and as they pass they say I'm sorry, which they obviously aren't as its the same people every home game, no consideration for other fans.

When the cheap season ticket initiative first came into action they were £199 and we were all praising the club for making football affordable and offering what was, and still would be fantastic value for money. Fast forward 10 years and a £49 increase to match the original bargain price would now be seen as a significant spike, a burden to many and no doubt cause arguments and friction amongst our fans. That's the problem with lowering and lowering the price. Once fans are over the initial euphoria of cheap tickets you have very little room for manoeuvre and have no choice but to keep season tickets ultra cheap or fans simply become disinterested. I like the sentiments behind our pricing structure and can't argue that it has been beneficial to the club but the prices imo should never have been reduced to a mere £150. If the club had played their cards right we could be paying say £180, there wouldn't be a murmur amongst us and every single argument in favour of cheap pricing would still apply.
