Sheffield Utd are the only team that seem interested in him and have just brought a forward in today. The window shuts in a few weeks for PL and but I think they might go back in with one more bid but it's starting to look unlikely he will move to the PL.

 

OK were now quoting a lad playing in a World class team that won the World Cup to a lad who has played 3 games at any sort of level, against a lad who's played 50+ games for PSG, sorry even the most optimistic Bradford City fan can't take that particular quote seriously as muchas we'd like to.

 

Don't get me wrong, if he stays I won't be heartbroken but I don't get this idea that he would be a hell of an option off the bench. He scored 7 goals from open play in 40 games last season and I've seen nothing so far this preseason to suggest he's any sharper, fitter or looking more likely to increase that tally this season.

 

I'd suggest knowing Oli is leaving Swansea and we have a % of that fee to come is for me far more sensible than letting Doyle leave to free up funds.

 

Come on Bronco, you know damn well I'm not suggesting the lad from Leeds is in the same category as Mbappe but the point still stands; if he is deemed good enough for league 2, he's old enough.

 

The whole squad were introduced one by one this morning,so why wait untill later to announce a new signing?

I agree but I think Swansea want to keep him and are pricing him out of a move

 

Doyle is a good forward at this level the problem is like I have been saying is he is dropping too deep.

If Salford are interested then he they need to offer serious money for him.

Like @Bronco says we shouldn't be looking to sell him as if he stays we will have 3 top forwards at this level at the club and competition for places.

I believe you need 4 quality forwards at a club and we only have 3. Selling Doyle would leave us short.

Yes I get that but let's not forget just how bad last season was for most aspects of our team, we had a 4/5 match run when we looked as if we were going to possibly pull clear unfortubatly that was not the case, but did we realy see anything like the best of Doyle last season I suggest not.

 

If it's him though it doesn't need the big announcement.

Tend to agree, If Swansea want to cash in and that currently seems their overall policy.
They really can't scare off the only potential bidder.

 

I agree, I don't think we did see the best of him last season but as I keep saying, I've seen nothing from him in preseason so far that suggests he will be any better this season. Just not sure when he is suddenly going to 'come good' for us.

 

They sold James early in the window and they have said they will only let McBurnie go for twenty million which is above what teams value him at. I think he will still be ther this season

 

Because as yet he still not being played in his true position. If he has started the first half yesterday with that set up we would have had a better idea.

I don't blame them for wanting to keep him, BUT they Im sure realise all that could entail, do they still have enough quality to supply the lad to keep his goalscoring going.
And although he has done very well with regards his fitness and game time for Swansea that cant be gaurenteed, look at the lad Graeme Tomlinson, neither Swansea or Bradford City want that sort of situation but obviously Swansea beileve he can do far more for the club going forward than £xxxxxx can buy.

 

Think they wanted a bidding war but it's not happening.

He is contracted until 2021 I believe and with the way the transfer market is going if he stays and bags 20-25 goals scored a few international goals for Scotland then he will go for 15-20m this time next year even though he will have a year left on his contract.

Doubt unless Utd offer 20m he will leave and that's looking increasingly unlikely now.

I think from a fans point of view I would rather the money next year than this. I want Rupp putting his hands in his pocket and proving himself which to be fair to him so far he is.
