Transfer Rumours 2019/20

Undoubtedly there are better options out there and yes we desperately need to strengthen other areas, but I still see it as weakening our attack and strengthening theirs.

 

I'd be happy for Salford to have him, i would expect our defenders to be more than happy marking a player who has shown very little over the past 12 months.

 

For me, I'm not even sure that Doyle suits the impact player off the bench role either. You want a player who's either a lump or a pace merchant to put tired defenders on the back foot. He's neither of those. I honestly think it'd be crazy not to let him leave if we can get his wages off the books considering the deficiencies we still have.

 

Doyle would be a big miss but his wages and any transfer fee will probably help us to bring a further two in. I think Swindon have wanted him all summer but like us they are having trouble moving players on to fund it. I would prefer him to go there than Salford.

 

If he would be a big miss, I'm not sure we'd even be considering moving him on, high wages or not.

 

Perhaps trying to get more people to attend...??

 

Well if the rumours are to be believed other clubs seem to think he would be a good signing. So yes I do think played correctly he would score goals for us

 

Doyle has quality, don't be fooled by a poor season last season - where he still managed 11 goals for an abysmal team finishing bottom. With little service. Playing up top on his own. Hitting long balls at him...

We have seen it time and time again strikers failing here and banging them in elsewhere.

I wanted to keep him because I genuinely believe he'd get goals this year and with 3 good strikers for this level we're all set to go in that department.

The second reason is that if we replace him with a Miller type (for example), or worse, we could be only one injury away from finding ourselves short of firepower again.

 

So was Wyke last year. #justsayin

 

They should still pay for the privilege of having him. I am not against him going but if he goes to a rival, especially one with the money they have then they should be paying for it.

 

I've not seen anything from him in preseason so far that suggests he would do that, other than from the penalty spot.

I'm with you if Salford fancy Doyle make an offer, it doesnt sit easy with me that we are prepared to let one of a trio of very good strikers leave to free money up.
Its been a long time since we had anything like the fire power up front that we have now, some are quoting the lad Edmondson from Leeds he's a 19 year old kid.
I won't question our signings so far because they have been better than most could dream of, Bowyer knows his player budget and has done very well so far lets hope he has a few more suprises up his sleeve.
Swansea selling McBurnie would be a great start.

 

If they want him and as he is under contract then i would expect Bradford to ask for a fee. But i think agents will have sounded out his availability on the back of Bradford looking to shift him rather than clubs being genuinely interested. I'd expect interest would come from clubs looking at picking him up very cheap but then paying his what is a large salary at league 2 level. Depends on what funds are left and how badly Bowyer wants to strengthen other areas.

 

Mbappe was a 19 year old kid when he won the world cup. If you're good enough, you're old enough.

As of yet its only paper talk that certain clubs are interested, there are few clubs out there who would/could reimburse anything like we paid for him, we would be stupid to let him go cheap.
A present with the formations Bowyer has played I'd say Donaldson and Vaughan would be his starters but a happy fully fit Doyle is one hell of an option off the bench, hopefully Vaughans past injury problems are behind him but we know usually with the lad any injuries are usually longer term, do we really want to shuffle the pack for the sake of letting Doyle go and having Donaldson and AN Other to partnering him.
I'm sure Bowyer will do what's best for the club, team, and his goal for the coming season.
