    Why does it matter? Most of us had never heard of these players or seen them play. Therefore, any assertions that they were brilliant were based on nothing more than guess work. They were still utter shitė in the flesh, and our pre concieved opinions on them based on little to no knowledge doesn't change that.

    You defended Rahic to the hilt and you just don't have it in you to admit he signed some utter rubbish. To be fair, if I was in your position i'd be exactly the same.

    Most of us sussed it/him out at some point on his reckless journey through our club. For me personally real worry started after we lost at Wembley, and the mood music coming out of VP was dire. Panic set in when he sacked Stuart, after that we have been on the slippery slope to nowhere.

    The crowning glory was our shambolic and amateur recruitment last season; I felt depressed for days when he appointed Freeman, Hardy and Willis. You always want City to succeed, so my heart was telling me we will probably be ok, but my head was telling me relegation is the only outcome.

    Yes we spent a lot on players, but that doesn’t matter if you have no idea how to construct a football squad in lg1. Despite some of the players being talented, it matters not a jot, if the whole structure of the club is in constant turmoil.

    So far this season I have been delighted with the goings on at our club, it would be the icing on the cake if Rochdale paid for the privilege of taking Riley off our hands for a fee........but I'll take him going on a free.

    I don’t think we’d let him go on loan and pay all
    His wages. We are not that rich. We might aswell keep him as back up if that’s the case. They will be contributing no doubt

    Can't see it being a fee really. Just one of those pay off a portion of his contract and let him go things.

    Either way, if Marcus Stewart is training with us then Riley could do worse than sit down and have a chat with him about how the life of a professional footballer can work out if they focus on the wrong things and listen to bad advice.

    To be frank, when we ran a thread last summer ‘guesstimating’ where we would finish the season, I predicted low mid table.

    This was on the basis of:
    • no manager/then total rookie
    • Chaotic pre season
    • The actual recruitment team mismatch
    • Abbot ill health
    • Mis matched players
    • Virtually all the squad going
    • The poor end of the season under Grayson
    However in August and September I did not think we would actually get relegated.

    Given the exceptional form in December I thought we could escape the drop by the skin of our teeth.

    However the totally toxic atmosphere which was increasingly developing, was too much.

    When we lost at Walsall, a game we could and should have won [or at lest got a point], then it was obvious that we were a lost cause.

    I'd say this squad is about 10th at the minute. We still desperately need more quality in central midfield and out wide.
