You keep going on about the fund raising aspect of this like I’m against raising money for charity. I presume this is to come across oh holier than though.. I’m not against the raising money for a great cause of course I’m not. That would be stupid. As usual you’ve just changed the argument to fit your agenda. My issue is people wearing the opposition shirt in the home end of a different football club. Regardless of other sports they do it in and whether you like it or not football has a tribal element to it. I find the acceptance that it’s fine to do this laughable. Ask any true Liverpool fan if they agree with it and I bet they think it’s wrong too. It’s only the sky sports football fans who don’t see it as a problem.

 

So what you are saying is you wouldn't be able to control yourself if you saw a Liverpool shirt in the home end.

 

Seriously Plastic, give your head a shake. It's a charity event for a great cause, it isn't a match with anything riding on it, and as long as plenty of money is raised, nothing else matters. So what if a few people wear Liverpool shirts in amongst the home fans. So what if some of the people attending don't have a clue who Stephen Darby is and they are only coming because it's Liverpool. IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!!!! The vast majority of people that have bought tickets are looking forward to a great event that will raise a lot of money for a fantastic charity and celebrate a city legend -shame on you for not being able to just accept that.

Yes football is tribal, and if this was a competitive match, obviously you would have a point, but it isn’t even a proper friendly. When someone from the football family needs our support we come together as one. We only have to look at our memorial in May, several different football clubs laying their colours on our memorial. It is a sign to me that no matter what the rivalry that there is between clubs, we put them to one side. If ‘they sky armchair supporters’ as you call them don’t know our Stephen then by the time that football match finishes they will.

So somebody decides to wear a liverpool shirt in an area of the stadium that probably would have been the only area that they could get a ticket for. And you wont like it, grow up for God sake, it's a charity match for 1 of our history makers just enjoy the game like a normal adult would

It’s pretty obvious it’s going to kick off! We have a small (but increasing) element of uber thick fans - as demonstrated on a few occasions last season. It’ll be a ‘badge of honour’ for one of these mutants if they manage to ‘pop one’ on a Liverpool fan. It’s naive to think otherwise - these mutants are a stain on our club, but society keeps on breeding them.
Btw I’m not alluding to @Plastic Bantam being one of these mutants.

Some so called fans of this club need to look at themselves and consider how lucky they are.
There's a young man who has been diagnosed with a horrible debilitating disease.
His fomer employers have come together to raise money for him and others who face this life changing condition.
And whats the reaction of some saddoes on here...to moan that some LFC fans may be in part of the ground they technically they shouldn't be.
I just hope those moaning don't have to sit in some consultants office in a hospital listening to the life sentence Stephen was handed

This is the problem with doing it. Look it annoys me that it’s going to happen however I have more than 2 braincells and am not stupid enough to start fighting over it. But guaranteed throw alcohol into the mix and someone will take something the wrong way and there will be a bit of trouble. Might only be a small amount but it’ll still happen. Football fans fight amongst themselves often enough never mind opposition fans
