    Never even heard of him TBF. Not made a 1st team appearance like the rest has he?

    We rarely get it wrong, yes 1 or 2 have slipped through the net like Matty Foulds and historically Jake Wright, Clayton Donaldson etc but can't think of too many we have binned off in recent years that have made a name for themselves in the game. Every club makes errors but 95% of the time a player released is released for good reason.

    They'll get picked up by Ossett, or Park Avenue or Farsley or someone.

    I highly doubt these imaginary 'big clubs' that are looking at them are going to be falling over themselves to call them.

    If they were being watched the fact it costs pittance to sign them (development costs) from us then they were obviously not deemed good enough by these clubs. A premiership side is not going to say. I think this lad has the potential to play in the premier league. However I think we should wait for him to be released then sign him up so we can save around 50k

    We released Dylan Mottley-Henry... I thought at the time prematurely. He got signed by Barnsley until 2020 and is still with them now.

    He was dire as a CB but had a couple of decent games as a defensive midfielder. If he doesn't leave then I could see him being played there this season, given Bowyer's preference for height throughout the team. Also pops up with a few goals from set pieces.
    Could be a useful squad player at L2 level. But I guess that depends on whether Bowyer thinks he'll be a disruptive influence or not.

    Except BoingBoing is right (well was right. When Payne’s deal got extended for the second half of the season you are supposed to have paid close to if not all of his wages). Scannel and Doyle were the top earners on around £5k. They most likely both had bonuses on top of that which so depending how much they were worth there may have been the chance they could have made 8k a week.

    When we discussed the wage budget available in around December I posted this table showing what I was able to find from research back in October when there was a discussion of wages. Most (atleast the ones at the higher end) are atleast double sourced if not triple sourced

    The fact that the total comes to £2.8mill which is about 60% of what one of your ex-board members says is clubs turnover in seasons without a cup run makes me think it’s fairly accurate. Just adding 3k on Doyle and Scannel,s adds 312k so that would be £3.1mill and if there’s we’re out by that much then it would also mean the rest are likely to be out by a similar percentage so you would be spending £4mill atleast and you would have failed ffp

    He got 9 goals for us last season and our team was dire. He would be a good signing for anyone in league one. Our style of play left a lot to be desired last season and he still thrived.

    He wasn’t amazing towards the end of the season but for 2/3s of the season he was comfortably our best player. More than we got out of most others put together

    Got to agree 100% with this.. For too long we've just put up with accepting the minimum. If fans accept the minimum then the minimum is all that we will get.

    Once Rahic was out, fans still demanded that Rupp fix the problem properly and not just do it on the cheap, this in someway forced him to try fix the problem by putting the funds up to do it. Fans should always expect more from the club as otherwise they will never get more.

    If I were looking at him, I'd be worried about 2 things:

    1) Consistency.
    2) Where do you play him?

    Number 2 is a big one. Is he a number 10? A left sided player? A midfielder? I'd probably want to play him from the left, in a free-ish role. Give him licence to roam. But you'd need out and out pace on the right side and a left back who was both mobile in terms of getting forward to give you width down that side and who can defend 1 on 1. In McCalls first year, with Meredith behind him, Marshall on the right and Cullen making sure we kept possession properly, he'd probably have done very well.
