I believe you'll usually find good defenses are good defenses because they can rely on the keeper behind them, they know he will help by being vocal and shout instructions to his back 3/4.

And like wise, good 'keepers usually have a solid and reliable defence infront of them ;)
People often talk about the 'back four' and 'keeper in different conversations. For me ...... It's always been a solid back FIVE. :)

    Why isn't he worth that?

    Go look at the below and their transfer fees Fordy;

    Adama Traore
    James Maddison
    Britt Assombalona
    Ben Gibson
    Alfie Mawson
    Chris Wood
    Sam Clucas

£15M is hardly unrealistic for someone who's scored 22 goal in 37 appearances in the Championship.

Derby needed goals this season to challenge for promotion and took what looked like an expensive punt on Jack Marriott who had been a free scoring forward in league 1. That gamble has them on the edge of a place in the premiership. McBurnie is this type of player albeit a division above. And we all know premiership clubs are desperate for a goal scorer to preserve their premiership status.
£10 to £15 million, depending on the market is a small price to pay for the potential financial reward for staying in the prem.
I'd guess at least half the premiership clubs are keeping tabs on him. And if Patrick Bamford is worth £10 million...

I'd say it's near enough the going rate for a strike rate of his at that level RT.

The amount he goes for will be largely dependent on just how much interest there is in him. If you are right that a good number of clubs are keeping tabs on him, it could lead to a bidding war and his price will shoot up.

As @Petrov@Petrov says it depends how many are interested. But by the supply and demand analogy thee ain't many to go round so thats why the premium goes up. I can't honestly see him staying at Swansea, especially with premiership clubs with a big wad of cash burning a hole in their pockets. Also gives Swansea a chance to rebuild their squad what with Daniel James leaving as well. The 15% sell on we have will come in handy for the clubs budget.

He has 2 years in his contract.

    Swansea don't need to sell.

This Danial James to Utd for 15m I can't see happening but if it does then I Swansea certainly don't need to sell James and McBurnie and bring in 30m.

    McBurnie stays in my mind.

If premiership clubs show an interest the players will want to go. The only thing that Swansea can dictate to an extent is the price. There isn't a player out there who would turn down the chance to play in the premiership or the huge salary that comes with it.

If Bournemouth sell Wilson, then they will use their tried and trusted method of buying young and upcoming talent, such as McBurnie. Swansea will be aware of this, and sell at THEIR price, not Bournemouths evaluation, so >£25m.

Doubt any PL clubs will though that's the thing.

At a push someone like Burnley or maybe Brighton if Potter goes there but if Swansea sell James then I think they will keep Oliver for the season then sell him if he doesn't sign a new contract or if they don't get promoted.

Sorry times if we're hoping other clubs sell a player so we can bag some money.

Are we that confident that the money that would come in from the transfer be spent on players?

Swansea want to raise 30m this summer. My guess would be that 15m from both James and McBurnie is their plan.

Might be an obvious question but where else do you think the money is coming from?

Why do you doubt PL clubs would be interested in signing him? Burnley's top two scorers this season got 12 and 10 goals respectively, Southampton 11 and 6, Brighton 15 and 5. I'm pretty sure they will at least be looking at him. In addition, the three teams relegated to the Championship will have money in their pockets from the parachute payments and will be keen to invest it in players they hope will be able to help them bounce straight back and after the season he's just had, why wouldn't they see McBurnie as being one of those players?

Whether we would get any money from a potential sale and what we would do with it is a different debate altogether.

It has been the case for the past 10 years at least, nothing new.

As for how it is spent does it matter as how ever it is spent it helps the club. Even if it is used to clear the overspend this year that still helps the club move on

    Not really.

The owner needs to put his hands in his
Pocket.. it's what football owners do.
