I know what your saying@Bronco but I'm in my mid 60s now and really hoped to see championship football at Valley parade before I leave this planet. I just think that's a pipe dream now, I fear another financial crisis is round the corner and I just can't face another 5/6 years of league two mediocrity. Playing Crawley, Stevenage and Solihull Moors is bad enough but we will be getting turned over by them. I'm just really down tonight and unlike the Pulse I'm not blaming the ref for today's result, that's just papering over the cracks of another woeful performance by a set of players I just despise.

Even accepting that point of view mate, surely Bowyer saw how poor Anderson was and even Butterfield was hardly contributing, I honestly expected a change at half time.

My sentiments exactly, I'd have been delighted to be a Championship side before I clocked out but these two clowns have put our club back 4/5 years unless Stefan Rupp is prepared to fund a possible promotion push next season if we are in the 4th division.
Years ago when we started watching the game, the formula for success was having a good manager and players who cared and the majority of the team were local lads, in our day it was not unusual to have players at clubs all their footballing lives, success now a days is very much based on club finance, a good manager helps without a doubt but in the modern game those who have a sugar daddy usually have a better chance over a season.

So true, It really hurts to see clubs like Bournemouth, Brighton Watford thriving in the premier league, teams that we used to beat regularly when it was a level playing field. Now it's only the sugar daddy clubs that will prosper in the greed is good football world.

Just got find the big backer that Bournemouth, Brighton and Watford have. Without money you can forget the championship let alone the premiership.

He got his line up wrong. It’s not his fault we need to win 75% of our remaining games to survive. He knew the task when he came in but to say he’s not up to it based on 3 games, where 2 were against top 6 sides is ludicrous.

Why can’t we learn we need to build something and it takes time?

He accepted the job based on getting out of this mess. He thought we could get out of this mess.

He is struggling to get the players even shoot at goal.

At the end of the season is the time to think about building

Is Bowyer the man to help us build. After today- certainly not!

It is not the defeat hard to take as it is, It is for the performance that counts and that was severely hampered by his team selection and formation, It is no coincidence that all those that went have said how poor we were in a game we had to try win, If he cannot get it right now then he will struggle to achieve long term, End of the season fine but then we must look elsewhere, We can do much better

They don't seem interested in us though @Rogered Tart@Rogered Tart and when I hoped we had someone with dosh and not rely on cup runs they turned out to be a flop and have in fact ruined us. I so remember the weekend when the news broke that the Germans had bought us out, supporters on old Claret and Banter message board were so full of hope that at last we had our own financial backers but now we come to tonight and I've never felt so low supporting City

Yes sometimes it's a case of be careful what you wish for. We were all longing for someone with financial clout to come in and take the club to the next level but the damage they have done to the club will take years to put right.

I feel the same mate. Before the reign of Rupp and Rahic i thought we had turned a corner in how the perception of Bradford City was to the general populous of the area. In al the years i've watched them the club has never really had what you would call a close affinity with people of this City yet through the success of Parky with his cup runs and promotion it became a positive to support what has generally been a lower league shitkicker with attendances to match. I guess most of us thought the arrival of the Germans was the next step in progression and a better long term outlook for the club rather than the seat of the pants approach we had seen for years.
Turns out we were the unsuspecting tourists who were blinded by the elaborate spiel of the time share salesman, now desperately looking for crumbs of comfort after being mugged off. It was god awful in league 2 for years, going back there just ain't worth thinking about.

    Is @Fordy117@Fordy117 your script writer?

You clearly despise Gary Bowyer and think he is not up to the job yet its the appalling quality of the squad that's the issue. Jog on.

That describes me nicely... R&R made the right noises, had what seemed to be a reasonable plan, and I certainly was cautiously optimistic that we had indeed found the right kind of moneyed owners. That the first season went so well papered over a few concerns I had, and so I remained hopeful into the summer. We had a club to be proud of, with a good reputation at home and abroad. Since then, though... It really is disappointing / disheartening / anger-inducing to see how thoroughly we have been destroyed. We are just sliding our way into, as one of our posters put it, one of the most needless, most self-inflicted relegations ever.

We have to start all over again; all the good work under Parkinson and co. wasted. I just hope Mr. Owen was too pessimistic in thinking we might need 4-5 years to get back to where we were.

No I do not despise him because I do not know him, But you are right in that I think he is a poor manager for the club, I accept the quality of the squad could be better and is out of balance, However would just mention that we have a lot of Championship players in the squad and with better management we would get better results.

    Championship Players
    Paul Caddis
    Hope Akpan
    David Ball
    Jacob Butterfield
    George Miller
    Eoin Doyle

    From Premiership
    Jack Payne
    Lewis O'Obrien

Most of these would be welcome at most division one clubs and some will be playing championship next season while we are in division 2

To be fair these players you allude to have NOT stepped up to the plate and delivered for 90% of this season. Why you thinks that's the managers problem is confusing.
