Restaurants and stuff

Pizza Hut. Pretty bog standard aren't they. Expensive too. Not been for a few years. £20 for a basic pizza. Won't be rushing back.

£55 for 2 of us the other week. I had 2 peroni's and the Lady a medium red. Squandering money is a skill of mine but doesn't normally have me thinking twice but on this occasion I got home and thought was that really worth it?? That was my first time in years like yourself and I'm of the same opinion I won't be dashing back.

 

I'm trying to think of one in delivery distance? I'm from Bingley, we used to have one on the main street so went often but that closed years ago. There was one at Keighley but there is a dominos in Bingley so I just get them if I have a pizza. (just as extortionate).

 

Do they still do the 2 for 1 Tuesdays?

 

When I lived in East Morton in the 80s/early 90s we used to get our regular weekly pizza takeaway from Mama's Pizza on Park Road in Bingley. They were excellent then.
I went past recently and noticed they're still going. Don't know if they're still any good though.

 

Got given some vouchers at Christmas for Bundobust. Went last Friday. Buzzing, as expected.
I thought it was really good. We shared the veggie combo, plus an extra curry (spinach and something; I forget what). Very nice flavours. Perfect amount. The chaat was especially good.
Decent beer - Three Swords from Kirkstall Brewery - complemented the spices nicely.
Service was efficient and very friendly.
I'd happily go back.

 

They are. Their Calzone's are top draw, I go for them over the pizza's from Mama's. Speaking of Park road that's where Dominos is on the corner of park road as you turn at the lights. Wonder if Mama's business has been heavily affected? As there is always a queue in Doms.

 

Yes but they have something on everyday now so it's not that much of an occasion now.

My apologies it is early, doing too many things at once. When I go to mama's I have the Calzones over the pizza's.

 

Fortunately we had a 41% off voucher to use so it was only £32 but still felt slightly overcharged, although that might be the Yorkshire man in me! I would have been annoyed if I had to pay £55 and have only drank soft drinks too.

I remember when Mamas opened. The pizzas were excellent back in the day.

The curry house across the road was excellent back then as well.

On a completely unlinked note, is "Offcomedun" summat to do with Lancs-Yorks?

 

Offcomed'un is Yorkshire slang for someone who comes from somewhere else - ie an off-comed one.
I'm from Essex. I came to Bradford (for university) in 1980. Hence Offcomedun.
I dropped the apostrophe in my username because it's too fiddly.

 

Hence the sophistication
