@Chippy@Chippy haha absolutely spot on! A couple of poppadoms, a couple of seekh kebabs, keema bhuna and 3 chappatis - five quid! You see some people just won't be told ( @Morley Bantam@Morley Bantam :joy: ), insisted on having chicken and therefore didn't appreciate the delicacies that Almanzil had to offer

Was it that expensive? Seem to recall it was about £2for a curry with chapatties. The shama always gave me the threepenny bits plus heartburn the next day

Did you write that review Millario? Sometimes I think places try too hard to make dishes too different or shocking combinations, but from what you say they seem to have got it right......and for £35 too! Before you know it the Rajpoot will be knocking out guinea fowl tikka and snail pakoras with a quails egg on top......and still 3 free chapattis and change from a tenner :)

    Aye, one of mine.

Yep some places play on gimmicks too much, & I'd always favour classic cooking done well. That said, I could go in for some of that guineau fowl tikka if the Rajpoot ever gets creative!

Haha. After all our happy reminiscing about the Almanzil, its toilets down in the cellar were horrific!

Hope we don't discover a black hole in our accounts.....or rather a bigger hole than has already been found. Never went to Patisserie Valerie though. Not really got a sweet tooth. Was it any good?

Dunno, it looked a cake and bun shop to me and I don't have a sweet tooth. But the outlets do look good and in Bradford it stood out as , er, "nice". Probably the best looking unit occupied so I hope that the Bradford outlet is one of those that is kept trading, when I've passed it's looked reasonably busy whereas 5 Guys opposite is always dead and on the market....still..

Whenever we have asked to bring alcohol in we have been refused too. Never seen anybody drinking in there but have seen one group stepping outside for a drink between courses!

Speaking of Shama's. The Bingley one is just a glorified pre drinking party before heading up town. Bring your own booze and everyone is just trashed. It's so loud with the influence of alcohol, you can barely hear your mates at your table. Inconsistent as well, had some belting Cuzzer's but had some terrible ones as well from there.

Goos stuff at the Waterside in Shipley last night. Only 2 tables in at 7 but by 8 it was pretty much full.

Pigeon to start was a standout dish. (Prob cos it came with a samosa.)
