should have been 6-2...keeper made some good saves despite gifting the winner...

 

At least it was excitIng. Losing is never fun but it’s a lot more bearable when we lose 3-2 and have made a bit of a game of it. I’d take that over the walkers over we had under MC.

 

3 down? Keeper didn’t have a save to make in first half did he?

We were poor but don’t agree with that

 

3 soft goals, McGowan lets a long through ball bounce, O'Donnell caught in no mans land, penalty. 2nd one, fella cuts inside McGowan at speed, minimal contact but given, O'Donnell stops it but rebound put in. 3rd one, O'Donnell spills a simple one straight to their guy. Shame for him, he made some great saves today.
Strangely enough, having watched it on a stream, I think there is something there for Hopkin to work with and even though I don't see the play offs cropping up, I think safety will be achieved.

 

I said that out loud when the commentator said Hopkin is on his way to his first win. "It's not over yet - this is Bradford!"

 

What a wake up call today was.

Well!! We were definitely shaky at the start of the game, but gradually grew into it. Defensively we are loose and that is being kind. Need to be more possessive of the ball as well. Absolute criminal to give a 2 goal lead away. But at least we scored!! Yes they will hurt as we all do, but that will help them come together and be more determined hopefully. Payne looks good, Ball showed some nice work as well. We still need more steel in the middle. Just my random thoughts.

 

It takes time to sort out the mess and some of it might take a long time such as the fitness.

Everyone has berated Akpan. He wasn't playing today. Everyone wanted two up top. We got that.

We'd have loved to have won 5-0 but that wasn't going to happen, was it?

Hopkin has shown what he can do at Livingston, let's give him the chance to sort us out.

I agree but do we have 2 decent Center backs?

NkP is probably our best and even he has his moments

They were rubbish today and just lumped it forward at every opportunity and we just wilted.

McArdle would have laughed at it and won every header today and we would have won that game.

I don’t think McGowan is a Center half. He’s a Right back. O Connor struggled with the physicality today and missed the header which their first penalty came from

 

I see Crewe's game against Mansfield was postponed today because of insufficient players. I think we should try that excuse next week to give Hopkins an extra week with these players.

 

The idea of the playoffs is laughable. We're going to have a hell of a job staying up.

 

I hope not otherwise he may not turn up on Monday

 

I trust Hopkin more than Collins so after what he's seen today and a couple of weeks of training we'll see who's still there at the back at the end of September I guess.

 

Don't know about anyone else who watched it but even at 0-2 I could just sense we weren't stable enough to see out the game.

We were very fortunate to only concede 3. In the first half, their shot count to ours was around 8-0. Corner count 5-1. They should have had a couple in the first half. We had a couple of lucky let offs in the second half too, specifically the goalmouth scramble where O'Donnell and NKP made some very fortunate deflective blocks.

We were outplayed by a poor team and deserved to lose, just a massive bitter taste in the manner in which we chucked it away so close to the end.

 

International call ups?

 

Oh for a player like Kilgallon to come on and steady the ship with his experience, What a folly to let him go,
Edin blames MC for him leaving but any decent chairman would not have let him leave without having more experienced cover, Edin has a lot to answer for to the fans IMO

 

Can we keep trying it till January gets here...?

 

Hopkin now knows where we need to improve got a full week of training before the next game, a good result next week and preformance is what I want
