Let's hope it was a freak result, very strange all round.

I'm guessing Shep had been giving it large all game judging by Smiths reaction. This stuff happened all the time years ago, if you are gonna shithouse don't drop a clanger in the last minute cos it will come back to haunt you. Hopefully Shep has the last laugh with a promotion.

I agree with your emotional comment it was some game but I don't see why we're not still contenders for winning the League, there will be some strange results before the end of the season of which Port Vale have Carlisle and Wimbledon away and Grimsby at home, I believe Doncaster blew a great chance yesterday after not taking advantage when Wimbledon went down to 19 men, yesterday was a bad day at the office but I've not given up on up winning 3 of our last 4 games possibly all 4.

Yes a freak result but 1 incident changed the game and whilst it was unavoidable, it happened and sadly once again when a skilled manager was required to make the correct decisions, he failed to do so.
We were 2-0 up and changes should have been made immediately with the sacrifice of either Bobby or Tayo or both.
We got away with it and scored a 3rd yet still GA did nothing.
Against all odds we got a 4th and still GA did nothing / made the wrong subs to see out the game.

I agree but let's not throw the baby out with bath water so to speak. The players on that pitch had enough to win, even with 10 men but they made sloppy errors and weren't brave enough with the ball. That's not on the manager, the players have to accept some responsibility.

I wish we'd gone down to 19 men. I think we'd have held on.

I know it doesn’t make sense why he would go in for tackle like that, in a part of the pitch which did not pose a threat. We were fully in command of the game. Doesn’t excuse it, but you have to wonder. Mind you there manager is a real live wind up merchant, so no doubt they were under instructions. Let’s face it the only way they could beat us is by going down to 10 men, but we still nearly beat them with 10 men.

The tiny differences being that their player was genuinely hurt and Smallwood's tackle was horrendous. I don't think the referee even took any notice of the Swindon players reaction. I don't actually get why you are referencing that other post.

Exactly. Some of the stuff I've read on here and one social media from yesterday's game beggars belief. From the ref was garbage to Smallwood should never play for us again, or that our season is now finished etc. We were injury time away from a famous backs to the wall victory but apparently we were just shit despite scoring 4 away from home, go with a different narrative and it's the most entertaining game of the season where we've just fallen short.
In real time context we win our remaining fixtures we go up now matter what anyone else does. We've lost our Captain but Sarcevic is back, let's go out there do our own shithousing on Thursday night.

It wasn't Simon Parker who covered the game it was a guy called Nathan Atkinson.

I didn’t see that from Shep angle at all RT…Let’s be honest there were hardly in our pen area the entire first half ?

Clearly we can’t hear the “ sledging” though.

You watch Sarcevic during a game-constantly chelping and leaving a foot in. I think a team needs that side to it if it is to succeed.

Look how many times we now take a yellow for the team, when in the past we let players run by us.

For so many seasons we have had a soft underbelly in our squad hence why we sit in the khazi league.

While Smallwood red card ultimately costs us I want my captain doing the hard yards, the often dirty work and has already been said I am surprised he hasn't had more straight reds this season. I would have him in my team for next season regardless of what league we are in. Possibly POTS for me as well. Was a huge critic of him last season but this one he has been a real leader making the team tick. We will miss him for the next 3 games.

BUT it's written in the stars that we get a 90th min penalty V Fleetwoood and Smallwood scores to send us up!

Now I wonder what has GA up his sleeve for Thursday evening?

There is a whole world of difference between showing three fingers ( I scored three goals ) to the opponent fans, but what (distraction? ) has that got to do with Smith goading Shep ? Apples and Pears comparison don’t work for me.

You are totally correct in saying that its still there for us. The frustrations are because yesterday was such a massive missed opportunity. From Smallwoods needless sending off to the total negative substitutions. You are right though in saying we wouldn't be having this discussion had we held on for a 4-3 victory.
The return of Sarc is the glimmer of hope I'm clinging to! Massive pressure now on Thursdays game.

You must have heard a lot of the players talking whilst sat in the stand ? Shirt pulling is quite normal in football because the EFL and FA normalised it two seasons ago ! . Timewasting , that’s our downfall we don’t do it enough, but from memory only one was Timewasting. Look at the ratio between fouls and bookings …..It’s mightily slanted .
You know as well as I do Smith should have walked . Do you want me to list the three offences? I’m sure you saw them from your vantage point as well as what the players were talking about?

Last week at Fleetwood they scored an own goal and Smith consoled the player.
This week he was mocked by 3 players for all the stick he was dishing out throughout he 2nd half.

You reap what you sow and if your premature with your goading and celebrating you're asking for your backside to handed to you on a plate.
I think you'll be fine, Walsall are in free fall having been 15 clear, it's between you, Vile and Donny for the top 3.
Good luck I hope it's you boys.
