Good player without doubt, not sure he's score the goals Doyle did as he's more of a grafter, but looking at your game on Saturday it looks like Yeats may take over that mantle.

 

You neglected to mention that the article also states that Blackpool are interested and it’s unclear if Grigg will drop to League 2. God knows what wage he’ll be on at Sunderland...sure they’ll have paid over the odds. Time for Power to get his begging bowl out again.

Can't see it mate, even as a loan I would think Sunderland in there present situation would want some if not all his wages covering, and his salary at Sunderland will dwarf Doyle's I would think.

If Doyle had stayed I’d be dumbfounded if he carried on scoring at the same rate.

We’ve 19 games to go - Grigg, or A N Other - knocking in 10 would be brilliant.

 

Some fans saying his hot run of goals left our owner no other option, although anyone who could potentially get us 10/15 goals between him coming back and the end of the season can't be dismissed but we saw on Saturday Bowyer changed the formation to one that should have got us something from the game, it didn't and what was worse is that neither of our two front men looked anything but very ordinary.
Does he change to suite Doyle it would be a brave man, we are where we are without Doyle yes It hasn't been the best football in the world but we sit joint 3rd in the table yet some are not happy with that.

 

I suppose Power’s thinking is that he’s made an offer, rejected by you. The money he was paying Doyle - say, £3.5k a week - he could, on paper, get a decent enough striker to get us over the line.

Thing is, we can’t keep hanging about waiting for a Doyle return that may not happen.

He’d be stupid not to be looking at a replacement.

I don’t understand why you haven’t just come out and say Doyle’s staying, come what may, and put this whole saga to bed.

The same could be said for us. Just come out and say we are no longer looking at a Doyke return in this window.
