New stadium naming, good to see Valley Parade back in the title.

It’s not technically our house though, is it? It belongs to Flamingo Land Resort.

    Nope.
It belongs to Gordon Gibbs pension fund.

So the stadium is owned by another organisation. I think you will find that clubs like Manchester City, West Ham, Newcastle United and Chelsea don’t own their ground. In the EFL Coventry, Bristol Rovers, Hull City, Doncaster Rovers, Leyton orient, Newport County, Wycombe Wanderers, and probably several more don't own the stadium. Does it matter? If it does, can you explain, why? Has ownership of the ground made any significant difference?

I might be wrong but I believe it's the Flamingo Land Pension Fund and not Gordon Gibbs personal pension fund..

Apparently the primary beneficiaries of the Flamingo Land Limited Self-Administered Pension Scheme are the members of the Gibb family, who own and operate Flamingo Land. Unless anyone has more specific information, then it isn’t a fund for the employees. Happy to be corrected.

This is what Gemini says... Obviously it's AI but I asked it to fact check itself but pinch of salt and all that.

The fund is for the pensions of the Gibb family, not for the general workforce of the Flamingo Land theme park. [1, 2]
Structurally, the fund is registered as a Small Self-Administered Scheme (SSAS). This specific type of UK workplace pension is legally designed for small, owner-managed, or family-run businesses. [1, 2]
The exact layout of the scheme includes:
    • The Members: Official Companies House records list only three family members as the "Member Trustees" entitled to the fund: Gordon Stewart Gibb, Maureen Ann Gibb, and Vicky Samantha Gibb. [, 2]
    • The Purpose: While it uses the "Flamingo Land Limited" corporate name to exist as a multi-member corporate scheme, the individual pension pots are pooled strictly for the benefit of these family directors. [, 2]
    • The Investment Strategy: A core benefit of a family SSAS pension is that it allows the family to pool their retirement money to invest collectively in commercial property, which is exactly how they purchased Bradford City's Valley Parade stadium back in 2003. [1, 2, 3]

That's a good summary from Gemini despite one or two errors and omissions. There is some confusion around the nature of the FLPF relationship which continues to this day. Here's some of what I've written in the past but the facts of the situation don't stick.with many and I understand why.

Although we are very close to the renewal date on the lease, I doubt very much that things will change significantly with the FLPF. The fact that we don't own VP shouldn't of itself be a red flag for a potential owner. However, its hemmed- in location and having very limited development potential to increase its capacity could well be.

    VP doesn’t need much expansion
Even if we reached the premier league , I think 30000 is our ceiling
A new Bradford end with a corner stand linking to MR could do it

Or the previously mooted Midland Road tunnel to allow that stand to be extended upwards. The way things are going with Sky though, it may not even be necessary to think about ground expansion, given they seem to be intent on doing everything in their power to discourage fans from attending in person.

Pretty sure the council won't allow another raise in the capacity at VP. More about how the stadium can be adapted to add more corporate areas in the future as that's where the money is.
