    Jesus. Another thread. Tell you what, go find someone with the money to buy them out who is guaranteed to be a better owner. Then come back to us.

    Until then, we’re stuck with what we have.

    This isn’t about new owners, but whether you are satisfied with the broken club we have become. I am sure if they are not prepared to change they will sell at some point. We will discuss that in more detail when we know who might.

    Just been watching Barnsley on TV, what a difference from our club. The owner there knows football, he says the most important ppl are the fans, novel I know but hey. Communication, community friendly and has built a togetherness despite being relegated last season. Well done Barnsley.

    And Patrick Cryne, Barnsley's former owner who recently died must take a lot of credit for Barnsley's current situation. Nearly a decade ago, he started to invest his own money in the youth side of the club, to develop their academy, to build their own training facilities and create the conveyor belt of talent to sustain a club with a smaller fanbase than our own and with a similar working class tradition to our own. He never forgot that the club was an important cog in the community and its relationship with its fans was important to its long term success.

    Rahic could learn a lot by looking at how Barnsley earned their success. In particular he might learn that to develop a good talent pool who might well be sold off at a later stage at a profit cannot be done on the cheap. It needs upfront investment which with a fair wind might well pay off in the future. But something tells me he won't!

    Cryne has been struggling with cancer for some time and wanted to sell out to a consortium with sufficient backing to continue to develop the club. This is the best piece I've ever read on what happened and you'll see it's a fairly substantial Chinese/US consortium with wider sporting interests and lots of money behind them

    Think Cryne sold quite a large percentage to investors when he knew he was terminally ill. Only know that Billy Beane is famous for being the Moneyball baseball bloke. Analysed stats and found players who were far better than their reputation.
