Summer transfer priorities

Watt aint coming back to play 2nd fiddle to Smallwood.

And he probably aint coming back.

 

I'd expect Watt to be looking at his agent to get him a gig in league 1

 

I wouldn't be opposed to shoehorning Gilly into the team as first choice LWB. He has an engine, can tackle and used to be a winger (allegedly)

And I'd expect him to be disappointed.

 

Is he good enough? I’m struggling to see it RT . He’s in the middle ground of not being just quite there tbh. One might take a punt as you suggest I suppose?

If it’s L2 I could see Carlisle possibly , hey it’s guesswork.

 

I never really took to the love in with Watt tbh. On his day he was ok to Good but wasn’t consistent next game sauntering somewhere in midfield.

 

I've seen worse get a chance at that level because to be honest there isn't that much difference between the two divisions. He's one of those where I honestly think you get a better player with better players around him, he's not lit up league 2 and I can understand folk who don't see a player there but there is something to work on. Would suit a manager who likes to play football, say Wellens at Leyton Orient.

 

He played as a wing back for TNS and by the look of his stats he was pretty effective.

 

And also right footed so will generally come inside and make us narrow.

I'm not totally against it but I'd like to see a genuine left footer there.

 

Teams around that area will be fully aware of him. Great season last season, this season maybe not so much. Stockport or Wigan are 2 I wouldnt rule out.

 

He's no wing back at league 2 level. Playing wing back in some farmers league doesn't wash.

 

Yes, hot headed at times and petulant . Sauntering is a good word because he was easily robbed when not in space. That’s what I think MH saw tbh.

 

A scene that plays out in my mind too, usually followed by loud chants of “Stuart, Stuart”.

Given the fact he hasn't been given a go then you are probably right but he does have some useful attributes to be able to play that role.

Either way though I think he's on his way and we're looking at bringing Wright back to the club for next year.
