That's fair comment, there are horror stories in football of debt spiralling out of control but equally there are very well run clubs with loans and debt factored into their business model. It's a start for us if Rupp is actually looking at a more proactive business model as opposed to just surviving. I hope that includes a plan because if it does and its genuine I believe fans would get behind it even with the price increase. One place where you were right is that the ticket prices had to be increased and that everyone has to pay it. Fans will pay it if they believe you are being sincere with your words.

And that requires the current regime to drastically alter their approach. I believe the low ST sales, the planned protest, low attendances and the anger in the ground towards Rupp and Sparks recently has shaken them enough to take action. Let’s see if they now deliver on their promise because if they don’t this coming season sadly many more will walk away.

What did they base their table on Wilsden?
Interesting to know what criteria they used?

At the risk of you going all defensive I’m curious as to what everyone might think our natural level of season ticket sales would be at these prices even if the product was better?

    6000? 7000?

No we got 1,408 in 1908 against Hereford so we deserve to be here

    I don’t think so
We got promoted to Division 1 in 1908 and we certainly didn’t play Hereford
    Try 1980

That lowest attendance in a League game was 1,249 v Hereford United 15 May 1981, Division Four. I did attend as it happens. Lost 1 - 0. It was c**p

Yes, it was a rearranged game, played on a Friday night after the official end of the season. We looked like a club going nowhere and then, out of the gloom, Roy McFarland took over and in one summer he turned us into a free scoring, winning team. His 54.7% win ratio has never been bettered.

How do the organisers of the protest feel it went? How many people protested, what were the messages on banners etc? Was it considered a good turn out or a poor one? Did Rupps open letter achieve its desired affect? I don’t think the 2-0 win helped much with the protest either tbh. Happy clappers all forgetting the winless run and rudderless club.

“The point was loudly made, and then the majority of those who led the chanting for change headed away from Valley Parade and into the city centre, rather than staying for the match”

I wondered why the atmosphere felt so much better in Valley Parade

I’d call it more of an embarrasment than a protest and the vast majority don’t have a braincell between them to understand the innerworkings of a football club.

Listen to the Peterborough chairman who last week said they’re losing between 3 – 4 million pounds a season yet we have supporters moaning about sustainability.

100% we’d love a new owner to invest millions but reality is so do the other 71 teams in the EFL and sadly them bidders just aren’t always there.

On the pitch a much better performance against a very disjointed Tranmere team. A win is a win and well done to those supporters who turned up this afternoon

I think the problem is a bit of everything. A chairman who isn’t interested and should offer more support to Sparks. Sparks is inexperienced and probably a bit weak and needs help (but has been a bit too full of B/S to admit it). Managers who haven’t been given time to make a mark. Fans unrealistic expectations. Declining ticket sales. Too many Old players. Bad management decisions and some bad luck.
Hopefully the chairman will address some of these issues but I think some fans have quickly forgotten the cheap season tickets. The stability through COVID and the financial soundness of the club we are supposed to love.
good game today. I think it would have been right to use Pointon carefully but GA has taken carful to another level!

Love this from the cookie monster and Pat on WOP

Yet them so called folk without braincells have forced our owner into action mmmmmmm still keep slagging them off maybe the next protest you could front them out rather than name calling rather than name calling behind a keyboard :)

Oh and please fook off with the Peterborough thing ffs its got nothing to do with money its to do with how many millions have been pissed up on sacking managers and high wages to bog standard players ffs

I bet you did :) maybe next you should hold a protest that will back this current regime which have done such a good job :( from the brink of the championship to midtable in the khazi league but hey we aint losing money though :) fook is that your narrative now ????? As the club drops further down the ladder and continues to lose thousands of fans we can still claim to be sustainable.

So while four clubs leave this summer into a bright world we can brag about being a sustainable club .......... i bet the likes of Wrexham,Mansfield and Stockport look at us with envy dont they ????

I bet as Mansfield beat us 5-1 there fans trudged of into the night wishing for a 12th place finish and being sustainable :)

Easter programme should have seen a 18k crowd against Tranmere and a complete sellout at Grimsby ..........what did we get a 8k???? crowd against Tranmere and pay on the day at Grimsby .

Still you and others mock the protesters if things do change in a big way then its down to them while you sat back and did nothing
