Is promotion still on the cards this season?

It's not going to happen. There's no way Crawley are not beating Grimsby on Saturday.

 

Only the 6 clubs mathematically in with a chance but realistically it's 3 team playing for the last spot. It'll be interesting to see who Sky pick for their game but suspect it will be Barrow vs Mansfield as Barrow are the ones in the last spot

 

By rights we dont deserve to be anywhere remotely near given how bad we've been for the majority of the season. We'd obviously take it though!
I dont see it happening but at least a strong finish gives us some optmism for next season

 

No league 2 games on Sky as far as I am aware

 

A lot to happen for us to make it but dreaming at this point is a win after those shocking periods this season.

As I say, still a lot to do and a lot of it is out of our control. Newport are bottom of the form table, what's the most Bantam thing ever? We need Grimsby to turn up at Crawley. A Grimsby side with just 2 away wins all season, the lowest of any club in L2 and second lowest in the EFL. They have just 1 win in 9 away games in 2024 which was against play off chasing Crewe. And we need Mansfield to not be on the beach and turn over Barrow.

Lots of Ifs... but you never know.

They will, they have 1 slot for final days football, they always show 1 game from L1 and L2 on the final day regardless of time slot.

Guessing it will be Stockport vs Wrexham for the trophy lift and Wrexham pull.

 

The 3pm black out doesn't apply now, it expired on the 20th so the last Saturday for that was last Saturday. The FA presumably only applied until last week at the request of Sky for League 2 and National League for the north/south play offs.

 

Never been a problem on the final day. They've had a waiver on it for years from memory, it wipes after game week 45.

It's in the planner, 2:45 the show starts.

 

Crawley have only got 2 draws in their last 4 games, and they need to get a win to beat us if we win. Grimsby have won 2 out of their last 3. It's not impossible for that to go in our favour.

Barrow have got one draw and 5 losses out of their last 6 games. They are against Mansfield who have won 4 on the bounce.

We have Newport who have lost 6 on the trot.

Probably not happening, but certainly not impossible.

 

For the gamblers on here who want to believe in the miracle you can get odds of 5.55/1 with 888bet for:
- City win
- Mansfield win
- Grimsby/Draw

 

Or 16/1 to be promoted if feeling well and truly optimistic! Was 28/1 before tonight.

You wouldn't want to play Doncaster anytime soon. They're banging goals in for fun and looking at those in the play off positions currently, I can only see Doncaster taking that last spot. Saying that, if we do manage to get in I'd fancy our chances against anyone given our current form.

 

It’s not Doncaster we can catch, there pritty much in play offs it’s between us, Crawley and barrow for the last spot
