I oft went in the changing rooms when having schoolboy trials and they were minute. ( Roughly late 60’s), I believe they have been massively redeveloped since, but the “ redundant “ terracing in front of the old gents loo could easily be built on as you say.

That whole corner of the ground needs demolishing and something far better to replace it. Embarrassing and makes the ground look shabby, the outside is even worse. Looks proper tatty and not a good look as the players come into the stadium.

Agree. While it is the last remaining part of the old ground it really does look a monstrosity. I am sure they could fill it in like the NW corner (taking capacity to near 28,000), build state of the art changing rooms, suitable media centre and larger club shop there. Obviously we would need to own the ground before making that sort of investment though.

would probably need to buy the road and move it to make any real substantive changes to the corner especially if it was to match the NW corner

Seems such a stupid idea personally. It's one thing when you have a 3rd party like iFollow taking on all the infrastructure and development costs but doing something bespoke doesn't seem to me to have a financial benefit especially as I don't believe they have live rights even internationally as those are still with iFollow.

They would have been better off just setting up a YouTube channel for it imho. You can region lock content on YT (actually is harder to get around as google have more than your IP to block you with) and you can both use their channel sub feature to take a monthly sub but you also have access to YouTube ad system which pays out pretty well and you also get money from any viewer who has Youtube Premium. Japans J-League has a successful Youtube channel for international fans including streaming alot of matches live and makes a good amount just from the ads (plus they also sell native ads in their content as well)

Unfortunately that is how football is. Every club does this including some in the Premier League. They'll get university students who need experience and so this is their only option, if they are lucky they might get a paid role at the end of it.
Voluntary/unpaid internship roles are at every club, nothing unique to this club

Spot on …just shows how naive some are! Great job for students of physio or sports analysis etc wanting real time “on the job” experience as part of their CV’s or indeed adding to qualifications . That’s Sharpe’s influence I bet?

I remember MacAnthony mentioning this very thing on his podcast a fair while back now, he'd been getting stick from fans for doing this very thing and was putting his view across that it was a chance for prospective candidates to impress future employers and gain experience at the same time. As a business you have to make every penny count.

Short term pain for long term gain. Its a foot in the door and if you do have potential a decent remuneration will be forthcoming.

In this case it seems fair, none of the duties seems particular 'skilled' so its perfect for someone who is looking to get into the field and wants to see it being done first hand. Both parties benefit from that

However that one a while back looking for I believe a Social Media manager and was an absolute piss take, the requirements for that required you to have a few years of experience in multiple skilled areas. The applicant got basically no benefit from that role, to get the job they had the skills in multiple areas each where they could with ease be getting paid a minimum of£50 an hour. That kind of job posting should be illegal and any club trying to use the football element to attract skilled applicants for an unpaid role should get a serious fine
