    I’ve never been Stroud

    I went on a school trip to Bourton on the water when I was about 9 or 10.

    We went to the Slimbridge wildfowl thing.


    Seem to remember it not really keeping the interest of a load of 9/10 year old boys.

    When I was in one of the record shops in Stroud today, I got chatting to another customer there because I was buying a copy of Deep Purple's Made in Japan. Mine is forty years old now and a bit tired.

    The guy was called Stephen Parker. Turned out he had been a music photographer for many years, if you look him up his stuff isn't cheap on Saatchiart. A massive DP fan, he first saw them in 1974 and then also saw Motörhead very early on supporting Blue Oyster Cult.
