Roger Owen - wetherbywhaler RIP

Very sad indeed.

Thoughts with his family.

 

What a shame. He always spoke well, a lot of sense, and well informed. I think it was Roger who said it would take 5/6 years to recover after Rahic. Spot on. Just hope he was well enough to see/enjoy our last day. RIP

 

Had some run ins with him on here but gave a lot of his time up to help the club out and was a knowledgeable fella. RIP.

I worked for/with Roger at Morrisons for many years through my employer (RPP) at the time. I spent a lot of time in his company at City games when we had corporate seats. A true gentleman and, as many have said, a voice of reason on here at times. Rest in Peace Roger and condolences to his family

 

I knew Roger away from the forum I received a PM from another member telling me about his passing, I was only celebrating our promotion with him at the final whistle against Fleetwood and he was as happy as the rest of us, I text him on Wednesday with regards the Ryan Sparks interview as he had a lot of time for Ryan and I never received a reply now I know why, I'm gutted for Lena and his family
A true Bradfordian and very loyal Bradford City fan RIP my friend.

 

Very sad news about Roger Owen, he was indeed @wetherbywhaler ,his posts were always informative and he will be missed on here as well as by his family. R.I.P Roger the Wetherbywhaler.

RIP Roger. Didn’t always agree with his stance but his stance always added value. The club and this forum are worse off for his passing.

 

No mate I've been at the BRI visiting my brother and received a pm from another member as he knew mine and Rogers past history, Roger was the same age as myself but turned 77 a few months after me.

 

Awful news.

very sad. We had our run ins on here but like all of us he loved the club very much.

Life is too short but I am pleased he managed to see City going up.

I am so so sorry I had to pass on the news Dave as I know you and roger go way back. He will be fondly remember especially by the old school city fans and may he RIP.

Certainly one of the good guys and although gone he won't be forgotten
