Ryan Sparks

For me it was the very best the club could do. Sparks can get on with what he does best and leave the football to Sharpe and manager.

 

Maybe spoke too soon about a “robust setup” if a 34 year old CB on his last payday is the best we can muster up.

 

It’s the start of the window , just have some patience . Players are still playing the field as it were.

 

I thought the Sparks interview was good and he was very level headed and candid. Credit where credit's due. Well done Ryan

Without the appointment of a man who knows what he was doing on the football side ( Sharpe ) then i think there would be a big chance we would still be at this level .............sorry for not comming out and saying that he comes across well on the back of one interview when he bumbled his way through interviews time after time.

 

I personally just can't get behind him. I think he comes across as arrogant and smug(undeservedly), and I'm not completely convinced he has done any better than anyone else would have done.

 

Interestingly he acknowledges that as a requirement behind the scenes. And also other key appointments. Was he pushed by the fans revolt or did he do it of his own bat? Who knows?

 

Probably a mix , inc the owner probably “ advising “ him to , as I believe he likely made funds “available” for people like Sharp?

 

The fans bud he would have continued to bumble along had there been no sign of discontent down there ........... we have gained promotion but he would have been better keeping quiet and keeping his head down

 

The fans that made it clear how we were running the club was not acceptable should take massive amounts of credit for the turnaround as without them, the club wouldn't have acted and brought in Sharpe.

 

Whilst I agree with you lots won't.

 

The interviewer was superb. A switched on guy. All the right question asked perfectly.

 

There's none so blind as those who will not see.

As I've posted before:

RS is on record (Jan / Feb) on the BBC Radio L**ds fans forum saying a Head of Football had been considered but deemed not necessary.

RS / GA / SR had all met to discuss the following seasons budgets etc.

Less than 2 days before the planned protests RS flies off to Munich to meet SR.....then we get the Open Letter....

Then Sharpe is appointed and SR promises investment!!

Just pure coincidences I expect?

Yes, I joined ISG, yes I wrote and sent my letter to Rupp and yes I attended the protests!!

He has us in a far better financial position than when he arrived

 

Has he done it? Or have Davide Longo and Michael Shackleton done the work? People can stick up for Sparks all they want, but in my opinion, he comes across as very unlikable. He was quiet for a long long time while we were shite, as soon as we get a promotion out he comes with the ego massaging long form interviews where he attempts to come across as the saviour of Bradford City.

 

100%. We'd not seen him for 2 years until immediately after the final day when once again he's front and centre in the public spotlight.

If we struggle next year and there's criticism to be dished out he'll no doubt vanish until the next opportunity to stroke his own ego.

 

If for nothing else he must be credited for bringing the likes of Lingo, Sharp, Shackleton etc to the club, he accepts he's made mistakes and as he says who hasn't, take a look at a club like Manchester United and the money and pulling power they have and ask yourself what have they done right over the last 4/5 seasons.
Let's not forget his mentor was a guy who had previously been involved with Bradford City entering two administrations ?.

 

Mick has been at the club years hasn't he Bronco? I'm pretty sure he was here before Ryan Sparkes joined.
