I preferred Baldwin on the right where I thought he was excellent, aside as you say from Doncaster. I would add the daft penalty he gave away at Barrow to the list of head losses.

 

L2 for defenders is a lot of horses for courses in my book too. Some just work better with other managers. Look at that Kelleher we had a few years back, he looked an absolute donkey in most games with us and now is a key player at Colchester who by all accounts fancy themselves for promotion. Stockport fans didn't rate Byrne at all but he at least looked capable for us.

I cant see him getting much gametime here this season, but a Harrogate/Grimsby type without doubt.

 

It be great if our budget allowed us to compete for the likes of Sonny Bradley and Fraser Horsfall who are both out of contract, but I suspect we won't compete with the likes of Huddersfield for this type of quality.

I would be happy with Pearson as one of the central defenders, but I'm afraid if we are targeting the likes of Tilt instead, we will struggle in league 1.

Early days of course regarding recruitment and frankly none of us really knows who we are targeting.

 

I thought Byrne was a shite signing. I dont rate him at all and still don't. Hopefully doesnt see any grass in 25/26 because he clearly isnt good enough for L1. Baldwin I was on the fence.

 

Well it lost all credibility in the headline by stating Tilt would be our first summer signing.....

That said, piggy backing off other rumours and could have some truth.

Yet if tilt wouldn't be out first signing as we have signed Max power so clearly the one reporting hasn't done his research.

 

One confirmed transfer..... David Coote has signed a short term deal with Evri after leaving the PGMOL.

 

If Tilt is the second signing then I'm afraid I'm in the "it'll be one season in L1 camp". Why are we aiming for a team of 30yo + players? We need some dynamic players with pace (we have one - Wright) and Tilt and Power would set the bar too low.

You are right no one knows who we are targeting other than the font of all accurate knowledge…Twitter.

 

We need two proven strikers as a priority. Where they come from I’ve no idea.

And 2 top quality CBs, and a top quality DM and then another 3 or 4 to boost the squad numbers.

 

I can only go on what I have personally witnessed. And that was a poor player who looked a liability every time I've seen him play.

For a couple of years the club have not let out any possible signings gossip. So nobody knows who we are targeting and they have kept the cards very close to their chest. In fact I strongly believe they are giving out duff info just to keep them away from who they are actually signing. No idea why a Salford player would follow our club either but he has soon put that right.
