Pre-season tour?

I’d guess probably Germany our owner might want to show his club off after getting promoted

 

I reckon it will be Austria again.

 

Same place in Austria as last year.

 

Wherever they are going I hope it’s organised by Kadima Sports.

The Spain summer tour meltdown was forum gold.

 

Hasn't he always taken his team to the same place? If not he certainly takes whichever team he is in charge of there often.

 

It will be the same place as last year, Alexander has been there with every club other than MK I think as plans were already in place before he joined so reason for him to change it. The only question will whether it is at the start or middle of pre-season, if wants the same as last season and have most of the squad in place before going then I'd imagine it will be the middle. He did say in an interview last week the date players are back in pre-season but I can't remember who the interview was with

 

Anyone heard anything on the grapevine about dates for this? Also anyone who went last year, what was the easiest airport to fly into?

 

Easiest for what? Baggage handling, Good runway,? I’ll get mi coit.

 

Does anyone remember the pre-season trip to Scotland in the 1990s. I remember we played the likes of Airdrie. Seem recall quite a nice write up about it in the City Gent. Must have been 1994/95.

Pre season is always a shit show playing some amateur teams plus the usual Burnley, Blackburn or Sunderland at home.
Why can’t we ever do anything interesting?

 

This gets brought up every year but I'm not sure who people expect us to play that would be interesting. All of the Premier League clubs go on tours around the world for most of pre-season, the very few games that do happen in this country are Premier League teams that have links like Villa play Walsall as part of the partnership between the clubs. The only possible Premier League club we would have any chance of playing is Sheffield United if they go up.
The games against the non-league sides are massive for them and great for building up match fitness, ultimately pre-season is about the players getting ready for the season rather than entertainment for the fans.
I wouldn't be surprised if one of the later matches is against Preston with the current links between the clubs with the management teams.

I was there last Sunday to watch them. My great niece is going out with a football player who plays for them. Sent us tickets. Unfortunately my dodgy ankle gave way and I fell down the steps on my back.
It wasn’t fantastic football tbh, but great drama. So they are in the NFL now.

 

We should be out in the US, pimping the club to those wealthy PE funds who continually put their money into the UK game.
