I've been suggesting this might happen for weeks.

We are awful, but we can't then overestimate Walsall. They're worse.

    Touch wood of course

I was checking out of interest the other day to see if it could be the lowest ever points total to get automatic promotion from efl. We could go up with 75 points which would be the lowest ever. It's a remarkable strange situation. I wonder if people's perspective will change if we are going up this time next week.

Time is a massive leveller with football. If we end up coming 3rd then everything resets over the summer and we go into next season as a L1 club. We’re limping over the line but a top 3 finish is a successful season regardless how we do it.

At least in this scenario we don't go up with the excuse that the team is good so we don't need a lot of changes over the summer. Sharpe and co will have no excuses but to get some players in if we crawl over the line

Shepherd out today because of groin injury.

If Byrne concentrated on heading the ball at corners rather than holding his opponent City might stop conceding so many avoidable goals.

Sadly that’s what all defenders do AND are allowed to get away with it . Once agsin rule changes permit it.

It was a really, really poor goal to concede.
Hindsights a wonderful thing, but Huntington at CB today deals with Street way better, let alone manage either Byrne or Baldwins missed headers. I keep banging on about it, but the Byrne - Baldwin - +1 simply doesn’t work. In a somewhat silver lining, we’ve probably seen the last of it. Sadly it’s come at the cost of our best ball playing CB who must be currently feeling terrible.

My mistake I was sure I saw the referee flash a yellow and Baldwin continued to talk back to the referee but on looking at the match stats its given a straight red ?.

Wright would be way down a list of players who were on the pitch to take that penalty imo.

I have just got home and heard of one of our all time debacles. I am certainly glad I did not have the chance to hear or watch this, given my delicate mental health.

It would be unfair to blame everything on Alexander. It is fair to put the blame for City's woeful and destructive disciple record on him. This is not an isolated example or just one player loosing his head. It is an inherent characteristic of the team. He hardly leads by example and he should have installed better discipline in the dressing room long ago.

We have all seen a lot of Wright. Amongst all his gifts have any of us seen evidence of him being a hotshot. As we had only one forward on the field we were short of options - but Wright?

I suppose if we were to have anyone suspended best it be a defender. We have many of them spare.

On a brighter note, we watched the game in the ring of bells and it was rammed. Fair enough, it was hard to get behind that 90 minutes but we came out in numbers.
