Good win. Carlisle could have been anything yesterday with all the new signings
Clean sheet, so well done to the defence and 5 in 8 for kav apparently
Only real disappointment is we still sit outside the playoffs with all but Salford winning which was the big surprise
Next Saturday is a big game for us and will really show if we can go the distance

I thought the defence was superb yesterday. Kelly headed the ball off the line, they are forming a great unit.

Journey there wasn't too bad Rod. Well not where I was anyway. Platform at Shipley was rammed so feared the worst but when train arrived was either 4 or 5 carriages. Got in the first carriage, plenty of seats. Filled up through Bingley and Keighley but few got off at Skipton so my mate, his lad and me got to sit together. All good natured, songs started increasing as we got closer to Carlisle. Not too bad.

Then it was like an invasion as hundreds got off the train at Carlisle and everybody singing and chanting. Other commuters in the station looking bemused and shocked. Plenty of 'youth', well felt more like 'babies' to be honest they looked that young!! Loads of plod about, guided down towards the two Spoons who didn't know what hit them!!

Got the 16.18 back which was completely rammed just full of City fans. Got seats but the carriage was standing room only. This appeared to be a large group from Keighley and from the sound of it a few had been given dispersal orders and didn't get in the ground. Non stop chanting, banging on walls, windows, roof, stickers plastered everywhere. Very pissed up. Many renditions of Bradford Ranger. Beer bottles, vodka, spirit bottles everywhere, vaping....Plenty of 'babies' on this one. Was generally good natured but changed when a couple of plod got on at Skipton. They had a photo on one of their phones and were clearly looking for some individual. Cue generally offensive chants aimed at the police. Think they found who they were looking for further down the train and we set off again. Quietened down after a lot got off at Keighley.....

Tune in next time for my next Alan Whicker travel review......

As poor as Carlisle were, they did create a good few chances and had any of them been put away, we wouldn't have been walking away with 3 points so credit to the whole of the defensive unit, including Walker who made a couple of very good saves. Hopefully they'll be on top of their game next week as well because they'll sure as hell need to be.

They became hell bent on creating this faux rivalry between us in the run up to the play off semi finals and it's continued ever since. They're a weird breed and no mistake.

I wonder why that is, does the surgeon have to wait for the swelling to go down if not I would have thought we'd get priority at the Yorkshire Clinic or any other private hospital I assume we still use the Yorkshire Clinic.

Not sure mate. Thought I read it is happening next week I suppose with such an injury and Cook being out until next season a week or two either way won’t make much difference

Decided to go on the train Dave. Mate lives in Skipton and works for Network Rail so he gets really cheap rail travel so wasn't gonna pay for a coach!! Good decision in the end as saw a few of the Dolly guys including Corky and Andy. Bus broke down in Long Preston so they ended up getting the train from Long Preston anyway and just got to ground in time!!!

No not on crutches, not had his operation yet. The players knew he was there and came over and pointed him out at the end. Richards offered him his shirt!!!

I know shepherd had a good game , but he's very left footed , often trys to tackle with wrong foot also not the quickest .going forward we need a quality right sided centre half , which we have needed from start of season

I can't see Shepherd being the odd man out of a 3 at the back if Alexander does sign another central defender, some of the balls he was pinging out especially to Halliday we quality, I don't think any of our back 3 are gifted with pace, we'll have to see what the rest of the January window brings, lets hope the Negru rumour isn't dead as he wasn't in the Oxford line up or on the bench.
