1,000 games as manager today

 

There's an article on The Athletic about Parky reaching 1000 games in management today. There's bits in there about his time at VP with interviews with Mark Lawn and Lee Butler including a story about the time he injured his back after having a go at Kyle Reid.

It's taken us a while to get back to the basics that worked so well for Parky particularly around recruitment but I think we are starting to get there with a focus on mentality and mindset as much as quality on the ball.

 

Heard something on the radio about Wrexham losing 4 (one against us) of 70 odd home games. Thats some mentality he instils in his teams.

 

Yes indeed. GA is very Parkinson-like in that regard. Although when Jamie Raynor interviewed GA a few months ago and said that fans compared him to Parkinson, he didn’t seem that pleased! But later said that he appreciated it and that if he has the success here that Phil did he’d be very pleased.

Some of the posts in here haven't weathered too well, Wrexham possibly a Championship club next season .

 

Shows what money can do-You can buy your way out of League 1 but that is where it stops for Wrexham. They are definitely punching right now.

 

Yes spent correctly helps, not sure why you think that Ade, the Championship is well within their grasp, we know it needs big financial backers to progress McElhenney and Reynolds have brass and the ability to generate wealth without digging deep into their pockets, they have plans to develop The Racecourse Ground helped by the Welsh government apparently

Spending money only works if you spend it well. In the last 18 months Carlisle have spent quite a bit and sit bottom of the football league. MK have spent a bit recently and they sit just outside the relegation zone. Chelsea have spent £1bn and that has been only good enough to be in a fight for the Champions League after nearly missing out on Europe last season.

Wrexham have spent very wisely and brought in the right type of players with a plan to create a team not a squad.

 

Won’t have a bad word said about Phil Parkinson. A City legend.

Now in the championship,say what you want about Wrexham,but three promotions in three seasons is a tremendous achievement.Well done Parky.

 

Unbelievably there are some city fans don’t like Parky. Given his resources he is probably our best manager inthe long time I have supported this club. And I wish him only the best except for when our paths cross
