It's 12 years since we beat a full strength Arsenal team at Valley Parade.
I remember when the teams were announced a murmur went through the crowd as we realised it was their 1st team.
Other memories were the cold, having to move because the Sky box was in the way in the NW tier.
The match was played in a good spirit, no rolling around or time wasting.
    Gervinho's dreadful miss.
    Great memories.
The next morning I walked from Leeds station to the office wearing my City scarf with pride and beaming from ear to ear. A construction worker on the Leeds Trinity site said to me what a great day and I agreed!

    Great memories
I was in the tl dallas stand that night, not the greatest viewing, but that night I felt like I was in goal along with Matt Duke when the penalties were being taken. In fact I think I saved one of them!

I think that was as cold as I've been at a football match.

I was in the kop for that match with the riffraff. There were a couple of teenagers in front of us wearing cosy looking onesies. At first I thought they looked daft. Later I envied them. That's one of the coldest games I've been to.

I remember that night so fondly.
My son and I went to the Sweet Centre for a pre-match curry. We were chatting to Arsenal fans in the queue for a table. They were surprised when I asked them whether their CBs were feeling confident because Hanson was going to boss them in the air. They obviously weren’t used to watching an old fashioned aerial bombardment. Hanson did give them a torrid time although we weren’t actually too Route One on the night.
We were sat in the front row directly behind the Arsenal dugout and were banging on the dugout roof every time we got a corner or a decent attack. Wenger must have been sick of us by the end. Very childish really, but fun at the time.
I don’t think I’ve ever worn more layers to a football match.
Hard to believe we beat that Arsenal first team. A great night and only the start of things to come.

I think we have just blotted out some of the intervening years.

Remember walking from North Parade to the ground. Every step seemed to get colder, wondering if the pitch would be in a playable state by kick off. Alas, it was. What a night. What a game. What an atmosphere, aided by the travelling Arsenal fans.
The scenes at the end of the game will live with me forever.
It's games like this that as a fan make supporting your club worthwhile.

What should have been one of my best nights as a city fan was the most painful.
I had Olecranon Bursitis (inflamed elbow) and the pain was almost unbearable.
Probably shouldn’t have gone but it was Arsenal at VP.
Spent the whole night unable to enjoy the game at all due to the pain.

My wife however enjoyed it immensely and also got one of the Arsenal subs woolly hat which was dropped in front of us after the game.
My wife pretended to a steward that it was hers and he passed it to her.

I also occasionally (quite a lot really) watch the highlights on Sky and freeze the frame with Wenger in the middle of the picture and my wife and I in the background.

Very painful and extremely cold night but also a fantastic night.

Some great life and family events during that time, and some not so good. Time flies!

Who are you calling riff raff, i have stood and sat in the kop for 48 years , and never been so insulted.
It was cold though, but not on a par with the Wallsall game a few years ago , when the rain was blowing straight into the kop horizontally , it was also bloody freezing, i could have sworn my trousers had frozen.
Remember it well , as we won 4-0 .

I remember that Walsall game as being colder than Arsenal too. The wind was howling around. We are at the back of A block in Midland Road, but still managed to get soaking wet with the back of my coat as bad as the front. Cracking match despite the weather if I recall. A thumping win in a dreadful season.
