Up until the goal I thought it was quite poor to be honest, could hear the players shouting in the first half it was that quiet. Did go up a few levels after the goal but I thought it was flat for such a big crowd.

I honestly thought the Donny away following was piss poor considering the occasion and how far it is

I thought first half the atmosphere was bang average. I would probably rate it OK, but needed to be better. Second half I throught it was great at times.

In particular, the atmosphere was really cranking up just before Donny scored the first goal. Our response to that was excellent. Their second goal killed it for a while, until we started to get on top for those final 10 - 15 mins.

Fair play to Donny. They certainly played their part.

Well I thought it was flat as a pancake until we scored. A shadow of previous times.

I thought it was quite decent tbh, first 15-20 was decent and then it got worse as our performance did. Didn’t help that despite their numbers I thought the Donny fans were quiet, heard more from 3-400 before. Ironically the atmosphere was fantastic after we conceded and especially last 10 minutes. It’s modern football, it’s not going to be belting all the way through, probably as good as you’ll get unless it’s a 3-3 back and forth game like that Sheffield United game them years ago.

If only everyone stood up at home games, the atmosphere would be miles better.

Agreed. Leading up to kick off was flat, as the players came out it was intense but as soon as kick off arrived, the sedate atmosphere of valley parade was in full motion as fans sat down.

Yes as we pulled one back and Kavanagh jeeed up the crowd, the atmosphere strongly intensified but prior to that, as the Donny fans sung, this is a library...

Thank you Rupp, for leaving us nestling in the basement league for 6 years and also, sucking the sole out of the city fans...

    Rupp out

As someone how who had to watch it on TV due to a family wedding today, you could hear was a pin drip the entire game from the City stands. All I could hear on TV were Donny chants. Heard absolutely sod all from the other 3 stands the entire match until Cook scored. Other than that, it was ripples at best of noise. Dunno if they need to alter the mics in the ground, but it sounded like an away day for Donny on TV, more than a larger crowd for City.

Its a TV mic thing i think, they only put mics in MR stand, so even a small chant will come across louder than anything going on at the other side of the stadium.

Also, it's a VP thing, noise just doesn't travel well in the place. In sit in block C in the Kop, but the NWC noise of the last few years sounded like a mouse coughing from our block.

People are fed up with the same tepid football every year and the dross of league 2. That's why there is not much to cheer about.

Could you not hear them singing “is this a library?” I could from the top of the Kop.
For 18,000 the atmosphere was flat. 30 seconds of a bit of come on city in periods but generally the atmosphere at VP is rubbish.

Why indeed!!!! I ask the exact same question every away game.
I have absolutely no idea why people sit down at home games and stand up at away games.

well Villa Weeds and Arsenal prove it can rock.... I just want to go behind to wordley goals not stupid defence mistake
that Arte basic to defend against. Cradle used to dive at players even of he could not get a tackle in..... we just leave them to shoot

That may help the stinky atmosphere tackles. aggression and geeing each other up simples

Irrespective. Whether we were winning or losing the atmosphere then was definitely better.
