Remember when DMac called out our transfer attempts when we wanted Critchlow on the cheap?.... should have been the first sign that the pledged funds didn't exist.

 

I still believe that I called it right when I said the Baldwin and Byrne signings were pointing to a reduced budget rather than extra investment.

It's like every pre season we go around on the same carousel but certain posters on here still believe it's actually heading to a different destination and desperately try to shut down discussion around it.

Well, once again the realisation will start to dawn that it turns out that perceived "negativity" is actually more "realism" than they'd ever like to admit and are probably already counting down the days until July when we can do it all again.

The decision to let Stubbs leave looking even more ridiculous by the day.

 

I’d say letting platt leave was a much bigger mistake. That lad never got injured if my memory serves me correct. Stubbs was a proper sick note

 

He’s been keeping fit this season in the PFA setup for out of contract pro’s. Apparently it replicates a proper league as they have one game a week. He also has a lot of experience and recently captained carlisle to promotion. We could have signed much worse, as usual I’ll judge after seeing the lad play

 

Hahaha a 37 year old being brought in to bolster our squad, due to the first choice defenders (who were also brought in to bolster our squad) all being crocks. I’m presuming GA was approached first to ask if he’d like to be Player/Manager for a few months, when he said no, then Gent opened his hotline to Carlisle.

Well Platt wanted more reason, and for whatever reason (wanting to do things on the cheap) we weren't willing to pay it. Platt is far better than any CB we have and I found it bizarre some on here almost celebrated him leaving. He will be in league 1 before us.
