Nothing to do with his position despite what some are suggesting. At least we have had it confirmed, and yes it gone to bed.

I listened to the presser on Wednesday so I'm aware of what was said, but I agree with Jordan that it felt more like GA was trying to find an excuse rather than admit the role he wants Kav to play doesn't suit him.

 

I dunno, some still blame GR after 25 years.
If we are gonna go down the route of blaming the owner for employing the CEO who then employs an endless chain of shit managers then fair enough.
I’ve been at a Stuart McCall evening tonight and he’s still bitter in the way he was fired by Rahic. 3 years and umpteen managers later on we are no better off.

 

I don’t agree with anything other than he’s not on form and should be dropped . The position is totally irrelevant if he can’t reproduce the basic requirements of a pro footballer , to which you agreed earlier when the question was asked .

I’ll be astonished if he’s in the starting 11 tomorrow .

 

I'm not sure Kev,, for me the role he's been asked to play definitely plays a part. We're even seeing it now with Tyreik Wright, albeit he's had a few more games in the wing back role to adapt. If these young lads aren't comfortable doing what they're asked and it's not coming naturally then it's very difficult for them to perform. Much more so than a senior player with huge experience I'd say.

Anyway, regardless of who plays there, it needs abandoning and going back to the two genuine forwards playing up top that worked so well at the back end of last year.

 

Alexander likes to use the 'he's carrying a little knock' or 'he's picked up a little injury ' or 'he's missed a bit of training ' for a whole range of reasons.

I sometimes think it sounds like a bit of an excuse - either for the player not being up to scratch or for GA himself not getting the best out of a player

Quite right he needs time to adapt to his new role which is alien to him (why change a winning formation)
How some can think it's irrelevant what position he plays and a professional footballer can play anywhere and impress is beyond me
Maybe he could come back between the sticks

 

The daft thing is I agree in some respects , however Dave, the position is irrelevant if he isn’t doing the basics skill set right. It’s like his head is somewhere else and over trying to please. I did notice he was pretty decent ( and effective) in the first half against MKD playing the same role……Since then , the role remains the same, he’s gone down hill.

We will see today but I can see Sanderson taking the role with Walker maybe also in the 3 in place of Sarcevic ?

 

I'm not sure mate who knows what goes on inside Alexander head, just my opinion the lad looked fine when he was introduced at Grimsby and I thought on the night he was one of our best players against Newcastle scoring and having one rule off for what was no more than IMO a perfectly good challenge for a cross that needed to be won, as you say we'll know at 2pmish.

 

I am hoping for a good performance and a win today, as I usually do.
It is much more likely today than not, as this is the one home match I can't be at this year, as I will be at the West Yorkshire Organic Show.
