Young to Stevenage seems to be picking back up

Heading back from London on the train. I'll be driving past the training ground and stadium on the way to pick up my daughter so will have a look.

 

This is why I thought he should have taken it. It's better than staying here. They were always going to move on.

Stevenage have extended the contract of forward Jordan Roberts but still want to bring in 'one or two'.

City have REJECTED the Stevenage bid. Their second attempt at bidding say the T&A and it was another low-ball offer.

 

Again Jon this is the bit I don't get. I know no more than anyone else, but to me Young obviously doesn't think going to Fleetwood is better than staying here. He may well want away form City, but not at any cost

 

Screams to me that Youngs agent is feeding info to Pete in the hopes it gets something going. Glad City aren't budging on their asking price.

 

Hope Young stays and given a fair chance to provs his worth to the club.

 

I'd guess the player would be up for linking up with Kemp again and Stevenage know this. Bradford might try play hardball but then end up with a player still on the books they clearly don't want. Not as simple as just meeting the price that Fleetwood agreed

 

Not for me. Aside of Swindon loan there’s little other evidence he’s worthy of breaking ahead of other options we have.

I just don’t sense much of commitment to each other from either the player or the club.

For me, it’s best for both parties he moves on but also happy the club aren’t accepting offers lower than their valuation.

 

Nah the club always planned on selling him even in Jan. I said he won’t be here come the end of the summer window and I still think that will be the case.

Well look at the situation here.

He isn't get in the team. Every game that passes and he's not even playing, let alone scoring, the lower his value. The fewer people will remember his six months of good form at Swindon, which was followed by six months of injury (per the football calendar at least).

If he goes to Fleetwood Town, he's gonna play. Even if he doesn't move and promises to buckle down, Andy Cook is an immovable object in the one man forward line.

It's a no brainer to me, bud.

Hope Young stays. Not sure why any City fan would want him gone, unless they back the club to find better in the next 8 hours?

 

His stock will be worth even less is he goes to a club he doesn't want to be at and then immediately wants away

You make a very valid point. I'm not as big a Young fan as some on here, think he's overrated by some because of a Marc McNulty type spell. But, we won't get better between now and tonight and it isn't me who will benefit from the money so I'd rather not weaken the squad.

 

Nah that's b#ll#cks. Let's say, just for example because I don't know, he doesn't want to commute or live on the West Coast. Fleetwood play a style of football that isn't suited to his game. He doesn't like the managers style or tactics. He thinks the rest of the team is very poor / not suited. He'd be absolutely nuts to go there.

 

Then he'd have rejected that on the same day they offered?
